An opportunity to try a load of Beaujolais at Prince. I was looking forward to this with quite a lot of anticipation
Unfortunately this was quite a disappointing tasting, a couple of the wines were flawed. Having said that the wines from Thivin and Aviron were quite nice.
2021 Château Cambon Beaujolais Blanc
France, Burgundy, Beaujolais
Peachy with a slightly meaty/savoury underpin and floral top notes. In the mouth it's tangy, juicy, the fruit slightly muted, touch bitter on the finish with aa little alcohol warmth. Meh

2020 Justin Dutraive Beaujolais-Villages Les Tours Flawed
France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Beaujolais-Villages
Low intensity aromas of earth, spice, a little muted red fruit, fairly anonymous nose initially, agitation helps the fruit to show a little more joined by wood glue. Ugh, wood glue dominates the palate. Nah. FLAW

Slightly volatile, wild ferment over sour red fruit; currants, cranberries, a little Bretty farmyard. The palate is very much a reflection of the nose with a tight grippy burr. Meh.

More ashy whole bunch, touch of wood glue, red hued fruit is predominantly cherry, slightly volatility. That volatility travels to the palate unfortunately, cherry fruit sacrificed to this. Nah.
