Introduction

For one week, cumulating at the Trois Glorieuses, we committed ourselves to uncovering vinous and epicurean pleasures in the villages of Burgundy.

All 2009s were tasted before malo. Most 2008s were tasted out of barrels, malo completed.

  • 2006 François Raveneau Chablis 1er Cru Butteaux

France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru

Shiny gold. Delicate first nose of honey, then flowers and peaches. Silky attack. Minerals with fresh acidity on the well integrated and balanced palate. Lime on the clean lingering finish. Complex and pure.

  • 2004 Jean-Michel Gerin Côte-Rôtie

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côte-Rôtie

A renegade choice! Deep garnet with very fine sediments. First nose of flowers and barnyard, then spices, leather and pepper. Subtle attack. Medium acidity and body. Plums, leather, herbs and pepper on the well balanced and pure palate. Finishes pleasantly with medium length.
