Same bottle as Rupert's note. Mid yellow. Slightly cheesy but nicely mineral nose. Ripe and rounded, very intense on the finish. Developing nicely in the glass. ***1/2

Same bottle as Rupert's note. Lime, mineral and a nice freshness on the nose, almost Chablis-like. Fuller with more weight on the palate, lovely cut and good line. This will be very proper. ***(*)

Served blind. Slightly more golden than the 86 Corton-C. Corky nose with tropical fruit underneath it. A touch of camphor. Mineral palate, decent weight but a bit of an oddity. The camphor / corkiness seems to dissipate after a while. Interesting. *1/2

Same bottle as Rupert's note. Served blind. Pale yellow. Slightly floral nose. Seems young. Palate gives a sense of some RS. Lots up front but it drops off a bit. Pleasant. Just about ***

Slightly high-toned nose, touch of cherry-scented furniture polish if such a thing exists. Good, nicely-balanced attack, possibly a little light and pinched in the middle. Enjoyable but it's the high-toned character that dominates rather than any NSG typicity. ***

Fresh, fruity, slightly lifted nose. Lovely, albeit with a touch of banana VA. Needs time here. ***(1/2 or even *)

Very polished red fruit, still a little tight. Nicely mineral with a touch of taannin. Now time to leave this one alone in the cellar for a few years - a 2000 for the longish haul. ***(*)

Colour of a very pale tawny. Passionfruit and prune. Quite cleansing and refreshing. Lacks a little acidity but very nice. Lovely match with Brett's pre-pudding of apple, vanilla cream etc. ***

Mid gold. Lots of RS, lip-smackingly sweet on the attack and the finish. Curious, slightly medicinal nose with mango and pear. Lovely freshness and acidity to balance the sweetness. I enjoyed this more than some of the others around the table I think. ****

En magnum. Lovely pale salmon colour. Nicely mineral. Quite long. Decent. Suspect this needs a long time to blossom. ***

En magnum. 2005 degorgement. Surprisingly linear, tight and mineral. Noticeable acidity. This still seems quite young and tight. ***

Same bottle as Rupert's note. Full, muscular nose, hints of ginger. Very gentle, creamy mousse, orange and spice, slightly powdery, chalky texture on the mid-palate and then a slightly oxidative orange and spice finish. Long and lovely. ****
