Picota cubierto. Nariz intensa, con carácter, notas de maderas final y matices especiados, sobre un fondo tanto de fruta roja como especialmente de negra, tinta china, cacao, algo de humo. En boca el ataque es bueno, con bastante cuerpo, tanino firme aún por pulir, buena frescura, atractivos amargos, estructura media, buen desarrollo y notable longitud. Muy buena presencia aunque aún ganará con algo más de botella. |

I saw it in Tesco for £11, and thought it surprisingly deep and complex for a wine of this cheapness, but conditions were hardly ideal. Might be worth getting another bottle to try it at home. |

The palate is likewise pretty plummy and concentrated, but with a pleasant red-cherry acidity, and a finish of fleshy plumminess plus herbaceous and bitter notes. I really wish there was more structure here – it feels big and fat – but there’s a reason this is a go-to for fans of big, oaky wines. And I have to say I still enjoyed myself. |
