Similar to my 1/3/21 TN. Decanted 90 minutes. No sediment. Deep cassis aromas with mild oak. Creamy, rich palate with excellent finish. Seems at peak. Absolutely delicious if a bit one dimensional. Drink sooner than later.

Opened one of our last two bottles of Midsummer for Thanksgiving. Drinking perfectly. Full, rich, and perfect right out of the bottle (opening nicely after 5-10 minutes in the glass).

What a great wine! This is in the perfect spot. Fruit and acid and oak makes this wine my WOTY! Unreal length. Makes me want to hang in the hot tub with some blondes and really party. Sucklings scarf gets tighter ever time one of these corks gets popped. I’d go a hundo on this but people who chase points… well… they are socialists.

Interesting Napa Cab. There's a little bit of a roasted note that points to the hot vintage, but it's not too bad. Seems kind of tight and wound up still, even on the second evening (stoppered overnight). Acid was pretty high and stuck out a bit. Not the most attractive flavor profile but an interesting drink for the $22 I paid for it.

Big, heavy bottle!! Decanted one hour. Approachable sweet cassis aromas abound from the glass. Dark blackberry, plum and cassis on the palate with some mocha (is there Merlot in this??) and a touch of soy on the long, smooth finish. Good structure with fine tannins that indicate another 3-5+ years of development. Excellent now, but a bright future ahead. 92+

Bottle was a gift from a friend (namesake of the vineyards...). In my cellar from 2014.

Dark ruby color. Nose of red fruits, underbrush, oak. Palate showing dark cherry, red berries, cassis, cola, deep earthy notes. Red fruits through the mid palate. Full body, medium/long finish.

In a great spot. Just starting to get into the 2013s, heavily tannic vintage that has taken some time to soften. This is a good example, rich and still evolving. Hard edges have rounded out, nice to try some at this point.

Drank over 2 nights - even better on day 2...

I found this wine to be at its peak, and this bottle drink perfectly balanced. Tannins seems fully integrated, acid balance perfect. I enjoyed this bottle.

Started to remove cork with a corkscrew, but it seemed to be very soft, so I successfully removed it with an Ah-So, and indeed it was very soft and the corkscrew would have pulled through - so be careful with this.
This bottle was sound and open from the start. Nose was classic very ripe Cabernet and this carried through the palate, with cassis and plum. A little more ripe than I prefer with some notable sweetness, but still very enjoyable. Good depth of flavor. Some acidity and structure, but on the low side. Mouthfeel was notable for its silkiness - probably the best characteristic of this Cabernet. Everything is resolved here and in good harmony - at a point where it is just verging on developing tertiary character. Recommend to drink up if you don't like the taste of "older Cabernet". Otherwise, there is plenty of depth and flavor here to keep this wine interesting for a while longer.

Really good affordable Napa. Excellent cassis and cherry fruit with brambles and some sweet spice. Lacked a bit of length for higher scores but seriously enjoyable. Has at least 10 years of life left as still quite primary. Nice!

This is a lighter style of Malbec. Seemed to open up a bit as the night wore on, and it got some air. Decent bright fruit, and later a bit of eucalyptus. Decent.

Had with grass fed ribeye. Fairly one-dimensional at this point. Fruit is fading a bit. Solid structure and well integrated, just not the same excitement. Really hoped this would age better. Maybe it will gain some complexity with more secondary characteristics, but it might be a little flat.

Was a pop and pour very tight to start but over the course of dinner a very nice aroma of dark cherries and a slight menthol essence emerged. A very slight hint of green through the mid palate at the start but tamed. After an hour a slight hint of green remained. A nice wine that went very well with dinner for sure.

Light to medium-weight pleasant cab. Dark color and clean, dark fruit flavors but lacking the depth of more powerful Napa cabs. CT drinking window seems a bit optimistic. Don't see this improving much from here.
