It drinks well more or less straight out of the cellar. The acidity is a little strong at first, but that eases off and the fruit comes to the fore over the next 30 minutes or so. It's not as in your face as some new world pinots, but more "oomph" than most burgundies, particularly at this price range (~US$19). It pairs well with a wide variety of foods from steaks to cheese, and also asian-style dishes (so long as they don't have much chilli). |
