2011 Fiorenzo Nada Barbera d'Albamore |
3/12/2017 - Bricks Likes this wine: 93 pointsVery impressed -- had at a restaurant group dinner. Based on where it's offered it was priced well. Light to medium color, floral nose, shows very well on the open. Drinking great now. I will keep an eye out for it. |

8/7/2022 - St Dennis Likes this wine: 90 pointsBrilliant ruby-red color. Aromas of bing cherry, dried herbs, red currant, and slivered almonds. Medium-bodied, slightly sweet, with a slick mouthfeel. Carries its posted 15% ABV alcohol well. Developing flavors shift from bright to dark fruit. Some tannin, but that might be the limiting factor for aging here. Enjoy sooner rather than later |

10/26/2015 - eboracum wrote: 84 pointsIt's some time since I opened a Dolcetto and this one was not the "fun" wine I was expecting. I couldn't find any old TNs of mine as calibrators in a quick search but I did find an excellent article by Asimov. He points out that the key to Dolcetto is a balance between sweet, bitter and earthy elements and adds that, contrary to Barbera, tannis are more prominent than acidity. The element missing here was the sweet one and an added element was a touch of leather. The result was a quite strong and savoury tasting but rather hard and charmless wine which did unbend a little with air and greater warmth towards the end of the bottle. Fair unbending towards good. |

12/16/2018 - Outplaying Likes this wine: NRVery nice Dolcetto that pairs well with food, but that you could also drink on it's own. An absurd value at the cellar door price. I wish I could buy this at home. |

7/17/2021 - WineKnurd Likes this wine: 90 pointsA year on from my previous bottle, gave it a serious decant and definitely noticed some improvement with the tannic integration. Notes consistent with previous tasting however there were more clean, red fruits, some additional spice (clove and cardamom) and the tannin presented "sweeter" and less dense than I recalled. They are still providing the majority of the structure, but the rustic acidity is starting to present more. This further development warrants an A- (90). |

1/23/2023 - Tartiflette Likes this wine: 91 points6 hour decant. Not a big and wonderful nose but more muted. Quite strong tannin still and underlying fruit only slightly showing. Even though it needs more years in the cellar I quite like it now with food. Beeswax, mint, cloves on top of the fruit together with forest undergrowth makes it a delight. |
