3/7/2013 - mauiguy Likes this wine: 90 pointsDecanted for 3 hours. Wonderful nose of dark fruits, cassis, plum, and rasberries. Rich and complex on the palate with a pronounced tannic structure that's indicative of a wine that could benefit from 5-10 years of cellaring. I'm sure I overpaid for this wine, but still consider it a good value even for an unclassified Bordeaux. |

4/18/2013 - NostraBacchus Likes this wine: 92 pointsDark purple color. Still very closed at the beginning, starting to open up after decanting for 2 hours. Beautiful classic nose of blackberries, dark cherries, lead pencil, earth and some tobacco/ash. Full body, very classic structure of tons of ripe tannins and quite some well hidden acidity. This still needs some time to come together, but there is a lot of potential here. I'm just starting to drink the 2000 right now and it's stunningly beautiful. Be patient, it might deserve an even higher rating in a few years. Excellent value. |

5/6/2013 - rerail84 wrote: NR- Purple color. It's balanced with a medium body. Juicy texture - Stood bottle up for 3 day prior to opening. Tasted before decanting. Nose was very expressive giving off notes of graphite, pencil lead, and dark berry. On the palate strawberry, notes of greenness and a bit of chocolate on the finish. After decanting for 30 min more bright berry is coming through on the nose and palate. Finish is still on the short side. |

6/6/2013 - cepageyakima wrote: 92 pointsFantastc bordeaux especially for the price. As a QPR would rate 95+. Dark cherrries, cedar, currant and kiss of vanilla. This has enough tannin to improve over the next couple of yeas and last 12-15...Love it! |

10/5/2013 - AMC Eagle wrote: 91 pointsLet sit for 90 minutes in a decanter. Dark purple and garnet in colour. Dark berries with some black cherries and some graphite on the nose. The palate is getting some black fruits, ashy cassis; the tannins are tight and finish is very good. There is some oak present as well. This goes well with some nice steak. I'd say open the next one in 2-3 years time. |

12/4/2013 - Brnshj22 wrote: 91 pointsI am somewhat puzzled about this wine. Mild tannins and doesn't seem fit for the long haul. However, the oak is very dominant on day one. Day two it has found itself and has become pretty damn tasty. My advice would be to decant and drink sooner rather than later. |

12/9/2013 - Drankard Likes this wine: NRDecant for 3 hrs but could have used more time. This is not overripe or Californian. This is definitely built for a positive evolution. Solid structure, tannins and acidity. Though I was looking for a bit more freshness but this is the vintage. The oak does stick out but it should integrate nicely. |

3/30/2014 - tastark Likes this wine: 91 pointsPop-n-pour. Huge nose that bursts from the glass. Got even more aromatic with air. I had this wine about a year ago and it was drinking better then. Makes me think this will come around again in a year or two. Still a great wine. Tons of Eucalyptus, graphite and smoke on the nose. The palette is very dark and brooding. Notes of cocoa, licorice and tar. The tannins are well integrated. The finish is a mile long. Lovely, but needs a bit more time. |

12/22/2014 - Kevincrouch Likes this wine: NRIt definitely performs, however, it seems a little one-dimensional and rustic. Though it is not uncommon for Pessacs to be on the chewy side, this didn't offer much more than rich currant and oak notes. Though very good, its pretty weak on the interest scale. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |
