Started out fairly good, but then dropped off. Pretty pedestrian on Day 2. Too hot, but only 13.5%. Just have no idea why that would be the case. Some nice pepper notes, but those faded by Day 2. Just not what I expect out of a Malbec.

Had enjoyed this malbec in earlier vintages. Now, I'm either expecting better, or my tastes have evolved. Dark berries, black cherry, but really none of the black pepper I like an Argentinian malbec to have. Very drinkable, just nothing special.

A very nice bottle to pop when the thermometer gets up to 90F (32.2C). The malbec makes a rosé that's a bit fuller. Strawberry, red cherry & perhaps a little cranberry in there. Refreshing. Drink now.

Wonderfully evocative nose of dark berries, cherry & oak. Notes of blackberry, cherry, chocolate, earth, eucalyptus, and faint blueberry. Tannins have lightened up dramatically. Drink now or within the next year. Great QPR.

Picked up while out of town, so unfortunately no shelf-time. That said, this is still a solid malbec. Dark berries & black plum with mild tannins.

The Tamarí seems to vary year to year, from pretty good to really good. The 2006 has dark fruits, mainly blackberry & dark cherry, with spices & black pepper. Almost a bit too sharp on the finish, but can't say any more time would help.

Okay, I was expecting more. Much more. While this was a gift bottle, I wasn't expecting it to be so disappointing. Where is the black pepper I love in the Argentinian malbecs? Not in evidence. What I did get was raisins, and that's not good. Have about half the bottle left, & I think it will be introduced to the sink drain later today.

Finally getting to this, as the drinking window is listed as 2008. That said, still a wonderful bottle. Dark fruits & a sharp tannin, with notes of vanilla & anise. Very full-bodied. We've always enjoyed this in the past, and had this one last bottle hanging on.

Had this almost a year ago, and for the life of me cannot remember why the heck we bought it. Opened the first bottle months ago & it was underwhelming. Very green & vegetal. Decided to wait until the end of the drinking window to see if there would be any improvement. Opened the bottle & decanted, giving it two hours. Then, I decanted it back to the bottle. Good thing, as a fly had drown in the decanter of wine. Hey, what's one more filtration? Deep purple color. Notes of tobacco, leather, red berries. None of the vegetal noted we detected on the first bottle a year ago. Not a favourite malbec, as there are no traces of black pepper I'm looking for.

Really, really nice. Unlike their regular Norton. Much more European in approach. None of the typical malbec black pepper notes coming through. Dark berry & currant, but nothing too big or in your face. Very restrained, like a Bordeaux. Others have mentioned high tannins, but with this bottle they were very even.

Was not expecting much, but pleasantly surprised. A very nice malbec with good fruit without being a "fruit bomb". Cherry & red berries, some nice spice, and a hint of barnyard. This was a pop-n-pour, and over the hour, it opened up beautifully. Really good right now or in the next two years.

Surprisingly one note: blackberry. That's it. Well, other than alcohol, which seems to show itself at a higher dose than the 14.4% on the label. Not a by-itself wine. Better with food.

Rich fruit. Notes of licorice, red berries & a touch of tobacco. Really great wine which would be a nice "daily drinker", if the local distributors didn't charge so much for it. When the Community Value is around $11US, and I can only find it for around $17US, there's a problem.

Opened yesterday & thought, "Well this is a hot mess." It was reading as much more volitile than the 14.0% ALC listed on the label. Notes of blackberry, tar & eucalyptus.
Day2 is much calmer. Alcohol is toned-down, tar is gone, and fruit – though faded slightly – has some black cherry to go with the blackberry.
Still nothing major going on, but much less a trainwreck than it was on Day 1.

Still cannot fathom why someone would give an über-low score to this wine. A nice bottle. Not an in-your-face alcohol bomb like many Australian Shiraz. Much more balanced. Nice nose of dark fruits. Flavours include dark berries, tobacco, currant. This is our second bottle (first consumed March 2009), and both were comparable. Would pick this up again!

Drank this one in conjunction with a 2004 Loan Shiraz… and the Loan won. Not to say this isn't a great bottle. Deep, dark color. Cherry, raspberry & blackberry fruits. Big, but not in your face. Good mouth-feel, but the finish was shorter than expected.

One of the best Australian shiraz' that I've ever tried. We had this head-to-head with an Elderton Shiraz, Barossa and it kicked-butt. Big, but not over the top. Cherry & bramble fruits, nice tannin, long finish. Seriously good.
