On one hand it seems like it was picked under ripe, but then the fruit seems a little confected/candied. Pass for me. |

2/14/2017 - ericindc Likes this wine: 89 pointsStill mostly primary. Tannins have mellowed but still provides some structure. Smooth and silky black fruits, and a hint of light green notes (which I like). I would wait a few more years until the tertiary flavors start up. |

8/13/2007 - jimkay21 wrote: 87 pointsYou know, for 10 bucks this really isn't too bad. It's got a little of that acidic nose (not VA) with some dark fruits underneath. Give it about an hour to open up and the sour mouth smooths out. Needs food to make it truely enjoyable. Guilt free every day drinker. |

11/26/2016 - Magnum PI Likes this wine: 88 pointsI have had a case of this wine for about two years and it has been fairly consistent. Starting to show it's age, but still drinking quite well. A bit of bricking. No decant, open for an hour or so, without food. Cherry mixed with dark fruit. Very elegant, tremendous value. At the peak of a classy bottle fro one of the great vintages of Bordeaux in the last 100 years. Buy all the '15 you can. Probably has a couple of years (3-4) left. |

6/19/2010 - winegr wrote: 86 pointsNot a great wine, but this has a nice tart acidity that keeps it balanced despite the not great complexity or interest. Mainly tart berries. Definitely not a RP wine, it is not flabby enough. Not too interesting, but I appreciate the style and am slightly overrating. Reminds me of an acidic, decent Super Tuscan. |

5/8/2023 - Jeff Leve wrote: 90 pointsBlending 80% Merlot with 20% Cabernet Franc, you find flowers, cherries, mint leaf, smoke, and licorice nuances in the nose. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied, fruity, fresh, and finishes with creamy cherries in the endnote. You can enjoy this with pleasure on release. Drink from 2025-2035. 89-91 Pts. |

11/10/2023 - oldcorke Likes this wine: 92 pointsPrior note misunderestimated this wine. Developing beautifully. Rich blue-black fruits against grippy tannin. Dark, sumptuous nose. Likely better 4 years hence. Drunk with a pan roased, prime ribeye crusted with black pepper, coffee, cumin, rosemary, fennel. Excellent. |
