3/3/2015 - DoubleMagnum wrote: 88 pointsA lot darker, fuller and deeper than I expected. Meaty, gamey and quite savory. Maybe a little brett and slightly cooked. Tannins are almost resolved and acid is in check. Far from perfect. Stinky yet tasty, like a good Époisses. |

11/23/2015 - pifcho Likes this wine: 93 pointsOne of these perfect Burgundy moments, when a modest village wine just plain delivers well beyond expectation. Deep maroon color. Savory nose with olive and bacon hints. Ripe, yet perfectly balanced palate with liquored cherries galore. Long and very, very tasty. |

8/5/2012 - Mike Ritner wrote: NRRuby color. Medium body. Simple nose of spice and red cherry, with a whiff of alcohol at first. On the palate, quite rude and rustic, though after two hours of air it smooths out somewhat and reveals plenty of crunchy cherry and some gravel notes. Nice acidity. Nothing serious; fun wine. |

7/29/2018 - Pknut wrote: NROn the first night, this showed dark, plummy fruit, still showing some structure, with a light dusting of spices including, I thought, a hint of curry powder. On the second night, much looser, the structure has broken down and the palate is more muddled, with dark, fuzzy, plummy fruit, but not focused and lacking in complexity. This is a simple wine, no more. |

10/21/2016 - MdeCarabas Likes this wine: 89 pointsSweet and dusty nose. Light body, thin, cherry syrup and dry tannins. Long grip with those tannins and some cocoa appears at the end. Interesting, you had better be in the mood for dry tannins! Impression of a wine from a hot dry region. If you are feeling imaginative think of it at this point in its evolution as a wine a Roman field officer might have as part of his rations. |

5/21/2020 - jlhkiss Likes this wine: 91 pointsOpened and let air about a half hour ahead of pulled pork and sweet potatoes. Dark crimson-garnet color. Fragarant nose brings fresh potpourri, lavender, cherry blossoms, apple blossoms, roses, and blackberry pie. The palate is medium, square, compact, and tight, bringing a core of red fruit (cherries, raspberries, pomegranate) with tart rhubarb, blueberry, and lingering orange peel and Manhattan bitters notes on the extended, tannic finish. Great silky texture and mouthfeel for the price point. However, still shy but I think this will improve over the next few years. Drink 2021-2026. Technical score: 91. Enjoyment score: 90. |

8/5/2013 - Pknut wrote: NRI didn't like this one as much as the last bottle. There is a touch of sweet red fruit, but only a touch, which soon gets hidden by a darker palate that has sweet brown spice notes, whether from oak or from yeast I am unsure, but it's a bit too murky and amorphous for me. |

6/18/2013 - Pknut wrote: NRI liked this Bourgogne quite a bit. Dark cherries on nose and palate, more earthy than fruity, rather dry in mouthfeel and not showing the ripeness that I expected from a young '09, with tannins framing the palate to the tapered finish. I appreciate the restraint and the earthiness, more classic than modern. |
