I brought this to a restaurant and decanted it there and it was somewhat muted for most of the meal. This has dark fruits up front and it has that massive inky grip you find in Napa. However, this had much more balance and was far more polished and civilized along the way. For me, this isn’t remotely close to being in its prime. This should easily drink well for another decade plus. This paired well with a bone in filet mignon. Revisit 2030+ |

4/23/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 93 pointsPurchased a couple of these in 2012 and stored properly since. This needs a solid hour decant. Big inky grip up front that leads into a somewhat tame full bodied wine. Mostly resolved tannins. Nice finish, balance and fruit. I suspect this is in its prime but should drink well for at least 5 years. Revisit 2028 |

4/20/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 92 pointsPurchased this magnum at a Napa tasting room in 2012 and stored properly since. This needed about 30 minutes to fully open up. Velvety plush fruits up front led into a decently balanced wine with a nice finish. This was certainly in its prime and best consumed within the next few years. I was pleasantly surprised how good this was. It started to fade somewhat around hour 3. This paired well with northern Italian cuisine. |

4/17/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 95 points2nd of 6 and two months since my last bottle. This is still robust and youthful and benefitted from 30 plus minutes in the glass. Toast and lemon peel up front. This is well balanced with good depth throughout. Likely drinking in its prime with absolutely no rush to drink. These should drink well for a couple of decades on its balance and zippy upfront lemon zest. Revisit 2025 |

4/14/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 93 pointsThis was decanted for 2.5 hours which was absolutely necessary. Then this was an inviting, extremely well balanced and polished wine with a long finish. If this is decanted, it’s certainly in its prime with a decade left of prime drinking. |

4/14/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 92 pointsThis is light on oak and high on enjoyability. This is a well balanced wine that drinks more like a Chablis then a Napa cab. Already in its prime and will drink well for another 1-3 years. |

4/6/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 93 points4th of 12th splits. About a month since my last bottle. This continued to open and improve in glass over 5 hours until my patience and one glass ran out lol. This is a well balanced mouth coating hedonistic wine. This must be in or near its prime with decades ahead of it. I would suggest a long decant on this. This paired well with quinoa salad over lunch. |

A very nice well balanced wine with fully resolved tannins and drinking at absolute peak. There just wasn’t much going on and was almost flat. You win some and you lose some. Hopefully, the next bottle is better. If anyone has any insight on what’s going on here, let me know. |

3/29/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 93 pointsPurchased at the winery in 2015. This was decanted for an hour and enjoyed with bone in filet mignons at our local steakhouse. This is a full bodied wine with dark fruits up front. The tannins are fully resolved and the balance is spot on. The finish is above average. No heat detected which is a feat in and of itself at 15.3%. This is drinking at absolute peak and best enjoyed in the near term. However, these will likely hold or begin a very slow decline over the next 2-3 years. This exceeded my expectations. Sadly this was my only bottle. |

3/28/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 94 pointsThree and a half years since my last bottle. This benefitted from a couple hours in the glass and decanting this for an hour plus would do this well. This has grand cru weight and depth with a lot of lemon toasted butter bread going on up front. Very nice balance and finish. This is probably in its prime but will drink well for several more years. Absolutely no rush. This paired very well with pompano, which is a white fish. |

3/26/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 92 pointsThis has been stored properly since release. I decanted this for about 30 minutes which was about right and it held up for a few hours thereafter without fading the least bit. This is a very subdued, fully resolved, moderately complex wine in either its absolute peak or just beginning its slow decline. I found this to be in a perfect spot for me. This paired well with Neopolitan pizza. This is best consumed near term. |

3/22/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 93 pointsAbout a year since my last bottle. This really benefitted from 90 min in the glass. This is a very subtle and smooth wine. Still a bit of subdued cherry fruit up front which leads into a well balanced wine. This is borderline delicate. Finish is a bit short. This must be drinking at peak unless you prefer a fully stripped wine that is utterly boring. This is best consumed in the near term. This would pair well with chicken or fish. Revisit 2025 |

3/19/2024 - N.Bonaparte wrote: 93 pointsThis was poured into white wine glasses and really benefitted from 30 min in the glass to allow the decent amount of energy to fade. Then this presents with citrus leading into a somewhat delicate and well balanced wine. The finish lasts a minute plus. This is already outstanding but a solid 5 years out from its prime with at least 15 years of solid drinking. This may not have the depth and breadth of the best vintages but this is still delicious. This paired well with pompano. Revisit 2026 5 people found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (4) |

All mineral, some pear and a hint of green apple. This is a very well balanced wine that is no doubt in its prime but also no rush to drink these. I’m guessing these still have 3-5 years left on them with ease. |
