With some decanting the true potential showed. Nevertheless still a very good wine. Dark yellow, lemon like colour. On the nose citrus and apple. Appearance: pale lemon. Nose: medium plus intensity; aromas of honey, lanolin, beeswax, perfumed white rose, white nectarine, cooked jasmine rice, saline. It’s developing. Palate: dry, high acidity, medium alcohol, medium body, medium plus flavour intensity, long finish with peach skin and marzipan flavours. It’s a very good wine. Can drink now, has potential for further ageing. It’s been a while since the last time I had Chablis GC. This bottle is certainly a great example with lovely aged notes. The beeswax and honey are running towards me upon opening. Then delicious stone fruits and cooked rice carries along. Swirl the glass, the perfumed white floral notes jump out the glass. Complex and ever changing! The piercing acidity is certainly singing as a Chablis but perfectly balanced with the fruits and the slightly creamy, oily texture. The finish is long and lingering with peach skin, oyster shell, savoury notes. Such an enjoyable wine! Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Comment

Rather fruity on the nose with notes of carambola, pineapple and ripe banana. Also giving some creme brulée -like sugary notes, butter and nutty toastiness. Dry and medium bodied on the palate with a somewhat greasy feel and balanced acidity. Ginger, butter and minerals before the decent length finish giving mushroomy earthiness and both spicy and nutty oak notes. Although well decanted, the wine was changing quite a bit over the course of the dinner. Perhaps with more time it will settle down and get more relaxed.
