5/8/2010 - manga wrote: 90 pointsPale straw. Floral aromatics struck me the most which gave way to vitamin tabs, powdered rocks. I found a Pinot gris like nose of jelly beans interesting. The palate was of grapefruit, green apple and pencil lead. Very fresh and lively wine! |

5/27/2010 - manga wrote: 92 pointsDidn't have high expectations either....Ruby red with a black core. Dark berry notes complexed with mint and bitter chocolate. Very mature nose of mineral, white pepper, tobacco and red currant. Very elegant and seamless acidity. There is still a touch of greeness in the tannin profile that knocks this down a bit, but is well balanced with the layers of soy, chocolate, tobacco and creamy cedar flavors. I think this at its peak right now. I served this with a paella done on the BBQ which was a good match. |

12/19/2009 - manga wrote: 89 pointsRuby/purple color. Nose is mature, red cherry cordial and bay/mint, some red raspberry. Mocca and earth. The entry is saturated with deep raspberry and mocca. There is a sense of good acidity in the middle, but it seems to lack the energy to drive through the finish. Very pleasant drink. |

3/2/2010 - manga wrote: 88 pointsDeep nose. Ethyl acetate blows off quickly. Dried flowers and tobacco. Dark cherry and sage notes are juxtaposed with mocca and anise. Medium palate with an oily quality, but seems to be a bit compact and shallow. |

12/27/2009 - manga wrote: 92 pointsRuby red. Smokey Brett and bay leaf. Red currant and red cherry. Elegant nose. Bitter chocolate. Rich entry and balanced acidity in the middle with dark cherry. Med length with good quality tannins and minerals. Bay leaf in the mouth that complexes. With several hours of air, the wine gained more clarity and depth. Drink up. |

2003 Arrowood Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma Countymore |
6/21/2010 - manga wrote: 89 pointsDeep garnet red. Plum and cherry cordial are complexed with a note of mint. Cough drop and a slightly bretty note add some volatility. The palate is deep on entry with fresh acidity, the texture is a bit tight yet and somewhat rustic. |

10/19/2016 - manga wrote: 95 pointsYoung vibrant nose, cassis, blackberry and black cherry notes mix with mocca/chocolate and seemed to have a confectionary element. Soft sweet entry with coffee and loamy, earthy middle palate. Soft acid profile. Seems to still be very fresh, but drinking great now. |

2/15/2010 - manga wrote: 89 pointsDeeo ruby. Jammy nose with a slt reduction. Dark cherry, black cherry liqeur and grilled herbs (thyme and sage). Licorice notes. Very polished tannins, not the most deeply penetrating wine, but very round and polished. With air a bit tobacco emerges. Good effort. |

5/9/2010 - manga wrote: 90 pointsVery reticent in the nose...notes of butterpecan, fresh butter and cardamom. Minerals and chalk in the mouth, just seems to lack the normal depth. After some study, I don't think this was corked. |

5/14/2018 - manga wrote: 94 pointsVery clean and crisp style. The extended aging en tirage delivered excellent depth of marmite and notes of white chocolate. The balance of this wine is remarkable and precise. Very lithe on the palate. Seems like this is in a good space to drink. |

2/14/2010 - manga wrote: 89 pointsGolden yellow. Very fine mousse. Nose is musky and dark yellow fruits. Celery seed and lemon marmalade and roasted marcona almonds. The palate is rather disjointed yet....entry shows promise of richness and focus but the acidity is rather awkward and tangs the finish. Nicely savory of fennel seed and yellow fruits but today the wine does not seem totally balanced....I suspect that I am catching this at a bad stage. 89+ |

3/18/2010 - manga wrote: 88 pointsPale yellow. Spiced bartlet pear and asian pear with a medium body texture. Crushed quartz and a tangy spine of acidity that gives the wine a little lift to the finish. Very nice, but rather simple. |

8/17/2010 - manga wrote: 92 pointsPale yellow with a green hue. Attractive level of reduction by way of roasted corn. Quince nose with Jonagold and an undertone of meyer lemon and gravel and rocks. The entry is round and fat with good width across the palate and then seems to fan out with dried flowers, citrus peel and fresh butter. Quince on the finish give the wine some closure and length. Very good. |

12/8/2009 - manga wrote: 88 pointsPale yellow with green edge. Yellow apple, bartlet pear and white peach on the nose. Balsam/piney. White flower perfume in the mouth but a bit disjointed...an oily texture in the middle but very clenched with a dry finish. Created some bitterness and shortened finish. Better the second day, but still not resolved. |

5/15/2010 - manga wrote: 92 pointsLight gold with a green hue. Lemon curd and verbena and greengage. Buttered nuts and dried flowers bring a nice counterpoint to the citrus. Palate is very soft and delicate front to back with some sneaky sweetness and crushed rocks. Very nice effort. |

6/26/2013 - manga wrote: 94 pointsOutstanding. Rather ethereal nose of pear skin and smokey herbs. A very delicate dried white flower nose added some lift. A palate staining mineral/crushed stone overcomes the mid-palate while the acid provides excellent cut. With air, this wine seemed to gain even more weight. Delicious right now. |

10/27/2015 - manga wrote: 92 pointsQuince and dried herbs and dried flowers. Subtle oyster shell notes and smoky minerals complex. With air, notes of quinine come out. Palate is super rich with an oily texture that is absolutely stunning. The quinine and pear skin/quince really stain the middle palate and finishes with a saline, piquant sensation. Really good right now. |
