5/31/2020 - learningandenjoying Likes this wine: 94 pointsB30; G5; 4*+8.5*+4.5+8.5*+9+5+4.5=94+; Some bricking in the color and predominantly a medium maroon edge to edge. This wine is very aromatic and sometimes when the glass has been down for a while there is a waft of cherry and red berry that hits and tempts the glass back to your lips. The aromas also have an earthiness reflective of both the terroir and the age. Palate is firm but smooth with lots of integrated tannin and mouth-coating richness and juicy acidity. Flavors are lush with ripe red fruit and lovely earthiness and minerality. Finish is extremely long, smooth, satisfying, juicy - just wonderful. With maybe 30-45 minutes of time open and 5-10 minutes resting in glass this is delicious and ready to drink. Will likely cellar for several more years, but why wait as it is very enjoyable right now. |

The nose never really showed much, though there is some notion of black raspberry and clayey earth. The palate is full and has a lot of grippy extract and acidic structure. The balance seems to be there, but this simply needs more time in the cellar. |

But rather thin and frail and too much acidity for my taste. Falls apart very quickly during the evening. |

11/16/2022 - Vinumming & Ahhing Likes this wine: 91 points2006 Burgundy with a few additions (Noizé, London): Nose is restrained but some red fruits and subtle Christmas spices emerge. Palate starts tight and short but with time in the glass opens out and broadens. For me in this flight, this and the the Tollot Beaut SLB Lavieres are very close qualitatively for 20 mins but this wine pulls away. |

11/16/2022 - NickA Likes this wine: 92 pointsNine red 2006 Burgs (Noize): A darkish, brambly but well-balanced wine with a lot of oddball charm. A good weight of sweet, dark fruit, some game and forest floor, then slightly drying on the finish. One of the best reds tonight. |

7/4/2008 - Traxx wrote: 87 pointsBlack fruit on nose. Rather disappointing wine, or rather quite off balance. Tannins and alcohol both poorly contained by the fruit. Certainly a young wine, might come into it's own down the road, but I'm under the impression that an off balance wine will always be such... |

8/2/2009 - DougLee wrote: 91 pointsBottle stored for 2 days in a semi-warm basement when cellar cooling unit failed. Chilled then popped and poured to accompany picnic dinner. Violet-purple color. Nose of grapey blackberry smells, potent and primary. Palate full and energetic, showing loads of blackberry and raspberry fruit accompanied by racy acidity and vibrant minerally structure. Tannins in evidence but not overwhelming, finish marked mostly by fruit. This not only survived, it had some pizazz. |

6/24/2008 - dfeiner wrote: 90 pointsLight cranberry color. Raspberry and mint on the nose. Also some funk, maybe sweat and also an herbaceousness. Like briars or blackberry vines. Flavors suddenly harder to perceive. There is nice acidity and herbal flavors. A bit of black cherry. Light in the mouth. But moderately tannic. I'm not experienced with Burgundy which might account for my difficulty here. I like the wine though. It is certainly challenging. |

12/2/2008 - chasjstan wrote: 88 pointsOriginally tried this a year ago, and it was so ungiving as to be difficult to enjoy. Still very tight nose and initially thought it was flawed/slightly corked, but this opened up over 90 minutes to show forest, mushroom and mint aromas with red fruit, and moderate weight in the mouth. The finish was a little short, but still with enough fruit to carry it thru. Very much Pommard character, but without the opulence of the 2005s I have had. Not up to 1er cru quality, but good nonetheless. I would give this another 2 years before trying again, then expect a window of 5-7 years to drink |

Quintessential Burgundian nose, with earthy red and black fruits and an undergrowth/decayed leaf note as well - the kind of nose where you don't want to taste the wine because in all likelihood it will fall short of this level of sensory pleasure. An autumnal nose, if that makes any sense. |

Pretty, creamy, slightly jubey black fruits, fruit tea and sweet spice, touch of caramel in the background, freshly tilled earth and, with time, a little tomato leaf. Juicy, medium plus intensity acidity, muted black fruits, plenty of slightly chalky textured grip, the fruit persists beneath this, long, those slight caramel and tomato leaf notes join on the finish. Getting to 'tidy-up' time... |
