Nose filled with briary black fruits, mushrooms, moist earth, a bit of older french oak. Hits the palate with concentrated plum and black currant flavor. Medium/full body, good acidity, finishes with some grippy tannins on the persistent finish. The high alcohol is well balanced and is not obtrusive at this point. However, this is not a wine for the faint of heart. Based on past history with this producer, this should provide pleasurable drinking for the next 6-8 years. |
