But it's an 07 and they didn't have decanters. After about 2hrs in the glass and bottle it really started to open up with, some florals from the splash of viogner (which I love) concentrated cherries, lots of tar, walla walla wheat, fall leaves, anise and smoke. By the last sip it was really coming together. Nice structure w/nothing out of balance. Went really well w/a variaty of cheeses, prosciutto and salami. Would like to see what this is doing in a couple of years. |

10/27/2009 - mmurry wrote: 90 pointsThe nose was very creamy and floral. It also had quite a bit of tar and smoke mixed with dark fruit. It ended with pepper and spice. The palate was very rich with black currant and black cherry. The tar and pepper was very prominent on the mid-palate, and it finished with a spicy floral note. |

11/4/2010 - rjhilgers@gmail.com Likes this wine: 92 pointsBig fan of what's going on at Rotie Cellars. First introduced to this wine and producer at the Wine Bloggers Conference in Walla Walla this last summer. It was not part of any of the organized tastings, but was still one of the most hyped wines at the event. Beautiful structure, perfect balance, big black fruit - a true stunner and one worth trying. Seriously...What? You're still sitting there, having not ordered any? Your loss! Truly great Northern Rhone out of Washington. |

11/29/2010 - SonomaWilliam wrote: 90 pointsOne of my fave Walla Walla Rhone producers; a 50/50 viognier/roussanne blend. Very pale clear vibrant color. Lots of stone fruit, peach, slight apricot, lush mouthfeel with out being flabby as viognier can be. Nice finish. Good solo, has me jonesing for some dungeness crab! |

Aiming for a northern rhone style here and mostly accomplished that goal except that this is Washington fruit. Really enjoyed this. Anxious to see how this winery continues to develop. |

A bit young and tightly wound but after an hour decanting it opened like a bloom with the Viognier incredibly floral wrapping around the elegant frame of Syrah. A different expression than is typical of huge new world Syrah and realty in a class by itself IMO. |

5/7/2011 - bpvrm Likes this wine: 90 pointsThis seemed a little tight, perhaps still a bit young. Re-capped and drank the next evening and it smoothed out quite nicely. Grenache prominent (70%), followed by 15% both Syrah and Mourvedre, really nice. Raspberry and cocoa flavors. |
