First bottle was slightly oxidized, second better but not what I would call pristine. Lacks precision. Red berry fruit of mushed cherries. One-dimensional palate with an acidity overhang. There was an air of beef juice looming over the second bottle also. Still rather coarse tannin, astringent finish. Past prime and nearing end of life.

Pale, hazy and quite translucent seared salmon color. The nose feels very savory, reductive and meaty with initial aromas of meat stew, split pea soup and smoked ham, slowly opening up to reveal notes of cooked carrots, some ripe raspberry tones, a little bit of crunchy redcurrant, light smoky notes of struck match reduction and a hint of damp earth. The wine feels dry, somewhat reductive and quite understated on the palate with a medium body and light flavors of pea soup, some crunchy redcurrant, light appley tones, a little bit of smoky reduction, a hint of cooked carrot and a touch of stony minerality. The medium-to-moderately high acidity keeps the wine in balance, but doesn't really lend much freshness or intensity to the flavors. The finish is light, dry and quite reductive with a modest, medium-long aftertaste of saline minerality, some pea soup, a little bit of red apple, light smoky notes of flinty reduction, a hint of cooked carrot and a touch of wet rocks.

A mild, understated and too reductive rosé wine that suffers badly from the off notes, probably from the excessive reduction. I guess this wine might turn out ok, if it was left open for 24 hours, but we didn't have such time in our tasting. As the wine didn't get much better during the evening, I must rate the wine as I tasted it. At 24,99€, this felt heavily overpriced for the quality.

9 Jahre alter Chardonnay, fast goldgelb im Glas. Weich, sehr cremig, mit langem Abgang. Orange, Vanille, etwas Birne, leicht salzig.

PnP. Lots of reductive odor upon opening. I could smell the funk from a few feet away and it was not pleasant. Pale yellow. Give it time to blow off and it mostly does, but not completely. Nose of lemon, lime, hits of flowers. Palate shows those flavors plus some minerality/wet stones. Sulfurous struck match taste too. Nice acidity, medium body and somewhat creamy. Lees? Decent finish. Overall a bit of a donut wine that gets filled with reduction. Disappointing really.

A beautiful bottle of Blaufränkisch. Already showing signs of age and probably will not get any better. Red cherry and oven-roasted plums, very mineral, also some blood/iron notes, funghi porcini, hints of coffee, high acidity, juicy, silky tannins. Very elegant and crisp, reminds me a bit of an aged Chianti Riserva. Lovely wine and based on this bottle I suggest to drink now while there is still fruit. . - 92 points

Passt sehr gut zu Wild oder einem Vesper mit Speck und Käse. Nach Brombeere und Pflaume, ein wenig Rotkraut. Schöne dunkelrote Farbe.

Deutliche Säure, die sich aber gut in die Aromen von Stachelbeere und Limette oder Grapefruit einfügt. Sehr angenehm bleibt er auch im Abgang noch präsent.

Agree with KL1975 that this wine comes quite close to the style of a very good white Burgundy. Maybe this is a hint richer and a hint sweeter, but the minerality, the toast and brioche flavors, the brown butter notes, the ripe and slighlty oxidized apple fruit all resemble a Burgundy. Lovely now or age for another 3-5 years- 91 points.

It is not easy to understand this wine if you didnt taste anything from Nittnaus before or if you are not familiar with their style. From the price cathegory this is their entry level wine. In color its quite dark and extractive. In bouquet its quite animalistic, meaty, bloody, earthy and after ripe fruit. Taste is copying the bouquet. Tannis are velvety, Its harmounious but in naturalistic way. There are lot of these excentric meaty flavours. For me if wine is interesting, it is always more important than conventional elegance.

Just from looking into the glass we can see unfiltered wine in more ruby than garnet color. In bouquet its fruity, woody, leathery. Tastes complex, surprisingly after strawberies, then coffee, bitter herbs. Whole structure seems quite in balance. Very pleasant and interesting drinking.

In color ruby with purple hue, very lively pigments. In bouquet quite woody and alcoholic. Taste after dark fruit with harmounious acidity and tannins with a hint of bitter herbs and leather (brettanomyces). Very nice and youthful structure. Nice and interesting drinking despite higher alcohols.

This Grüner Veltliner definitely has that "spicy fingerprint" that I believe every Grüner Veltliner should have. There is also a great freshness and minerality to this wine - not unlike the dry and crispy riesling from the same region or maybe even like Alsace. The taste is warm, savory and with balanced acidity. The only thing that bothers me is the small spikes of alcohol pupping up at the finish. A wine with pretty notes of fruit, great freshness, and a savory taste + a little alcohol at the finish
