NV Talisker Skye Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 45.8%Isle of Skye more |
11/1/2023 - Double-A Does not like this wine: NRHot and mean. Angular and spirited palate; rough finish. The 10yr is powerful and assertive but with great length and presence, this NAS lacks the balance and interest and just seem altogether too young. |

1/1/2019 - Double-A wrote: NROvertly, smoky nose; more phenolic and medicinal than other Taliskers. Strong upfront, with a hot bite of alcohol and more smoke on the finish. Missing the mid palate weight for balance. 45.8% abv |

12/15/2023 - JulianSkeels wrote: 92 points59.7% and finished in white, tawny and ruby port casks. Very very (dangerously) smooth - doesn’t even need water. Loads of of dried dark berries on the nose and palate, with caramel and a hint of peat. Almost reminds me of sloe - and it dominates. Far from classic but works well and great for a cigar |

1976 Talisker 46 year old Prima & Ultima Bottled 2022 50.9%Isle of Skye Malt, Grain more |
10/29/2023 - henrygjeffreys Likes this wine: NRThis came from a mixture of European and American oak casks, married for three years in a puncheon until Walker deemed it ready to bottle, at 50.9% ABV. It is gently smoky and mellow with that trademark Talisker peppery note and the most amazing finish like a jamon Iberico. |

10/14/2023 - Double-A Likes this wine: 93 pointsHighly aromatic, spearmint, smoke, apple sauce, bacon, char and malt nose. Assertive, peppery palate; dry and firm with a sweetness upfront; long, charred finish with a characterful bite. |

NV Talisker Storm Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 45.8%Isle of Skye more |
1/16/2023 - eboracum Likes this wine: 92 pointsThis is an elegant round bodied whisky. I am a fan of Islay and this one from Skye has a some similar peaty and iodine flavours but in a more restrained manner and without the "fishy" notes about Islay detractors complain. Very good. |

12/6/2022 - John McCabe wrote: 96 pointsAlways such a beautiful gem for me. There is a richness, some peatiness, a briney aspect that is unlike anything else and some steely structure that the 25-year doesn't quite have. My favorite at its price-point by a country mile. Got the Highland Park 18 aloneside and it was drab and muted by comparison. |

9/15/2022 - mrabinowitz wrote: NRThis special-release will not disappoint lovers of this distillery. The Storm bottling ofers up a rich, slightly bigger, creamy style compared to the 10-year. Strong fruit at frst like banana and apples are complemented by salt, and a good dash of campfre smoke. A great dram that reminds you how versatile Scotch can be. A perfect pairing with oysters! 9/2/2022 - Colowine Likes this wine: 92 pointsSmoke and saline; a lot of the aspects I like about Lagavaulin without the band-aid. Lighter bodied (none of the oiliness present in Islays sometimes) with some honey on the finish. A great deal at $35, but I've been seeing it for closer to $50 lately, which puts it in the middle of the pack at the price point. |

11/9/2021 - Harley1199 Likes this wine: NR25 ml served in a cognac glass. Meeting of irredentive drinkers taking advantage of the local holiday in Madrid. The sheer rock has always marked the way how things must be done on Skye Island. Aromas of the grandmother’s furniture with notes of black pepper and candied orange with an elegant saline touch. Recently opened bottle, well known where the aristocratic spirit that resides inside always shows generous. One of my contributions to the afternoon. |

Wild nose here, herbal, smokey, oaky. Strong palate entry with smoke and pepper building up. A masculine and distinctive bottle as always. |

12/26/2020 - Soteriologist wrote: 92 pointsOut of sheer laziness I would like to point to PSPATRICK's note below, but adding acacia honey and the typically Talisker almond oil / marzipan and sandalwood. The same age as the 10, it's chili bite has been considerably reduced and tamed by a strong-for-the-age cask maturation, a necessary condition for me to enjoy Talisker. Similar in that regard to the Talisker Port Ruighe, but significantly more mature and without the metallic notes of youth. Similar in application to the Lagavulin 16, but that one clearly convinced me more in direct comparison (new TN for it coming up within the next 2 months) because it has more complexity and iodine than this rather sweet affair here. |

10/22/2020 - Soteriologist wrote: 90 pointsI deleted my note from 2015 that way overrated this which I had to confess after direct comparison with this Talisker Distiller's Edition and the Ardmore 12 Port Wood Finish. It does contain the "metallic" indicator of youth mentioned here. The Talisker "bite" is greatly reduced. Beefy, smoked and cured, has oak, almonds, marzipan, white pepper, cinnamon, oranges with cloves and a hint of hot tires and the smell of burning charcoal. Easy drinking for Talisker and good qpr. |
