The 2020 pours a deep ruby with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart, dark cherry, some dried herbs and dried earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannins and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is medium with a sweet tart cherry thing. Seems a touch hotter than the 13.5% indicated. Drink now and through 2030+ or you can cook with it if you swoop at Costco for under $15 USD. |

12/6/2023 - benny-g Likes this wine: 91 pointsThe first impression is that of scorched earth and red fruit. Intense strawberries and cherries flavours are coming first. Then they are joined by just a hint of raspberry and more obvious darker fruit, like blueberry, and the acidity and tannins appear. The latter giving a bit of a dusty feel. A touch of dark florals manages to manifest itself, as well as some sweet spices. Very nice Chianti indeed and with around 25 euros I would say this is correctly priced. |

Smooth tannins frame the wine well, with medium acidity, and a juicy, dark stage of black cherries, plum sauce, and raspberries. The fruit blends well with tones of dark chocolate, coffee grounds, magic marker, anise, black pepper, black tea. Lovely stuff that needs some air, braised meat, and a cold night to show its best. Should age really nicely, too, but delicious young. Sangiovese and Merlot aged two years in oak. |
