By the glass at the Four Seasons in Baltimore, Young and fruit forward. More viscous than most Oregon Pinot. A bit overripe and manipulated...no real character

I have had other offereings from Alexana that I liked, this is likely their price point wine for the by the glass menu. Would have pegged this as a CA Pinot...

6/22/2018 2:20:00 PM - Had this wine this past week. It's come around very nicely: light to medium bodied, lots of fruit but some complexity too, elegant, not cloying, better than most CA PNs, IMHO.

I always get a few bottles of Cabernet to go along with my yearly allocation of Zinfandel, and even though very young, this is a substantial wine. I actually have consumed all three bottles of what I ordered this year, I couldn't help myself---I'll need to get quite a bit of the 2015 when it's released. Always a sleeper of a Cabernet from Dry Creek Valley--structured, vanilla spice, gobs of fruit, and a medium finish. If you have some in your cellar, save into 2019, and you'll be rewarded. 92-93 points.

This is a tasty blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Merlot and 4% Malbec. The color is medium (+) ruby with some purple hues and some garnet on the rim. The nose is clean, with ripe cherry, black plum, dark chocolate and baking spice. The nose is developing. The palate is dry but quite fruit forward. The acidity is medium, the tannins are medium and the alcohol is medium (+). This is a nicely balanced, full-bodied wine with medium (+) flavor intensity and length, perhaps skewed slightly towards softness. Drinking well now and for the next couple of years. A very good value.

Good wine to serve with friends during the World Cup. Spicy and a bit hot up front. Tannins linger suggesting some depth, raspberry later as the heat falls away.
Complimented the chicken breast in white wine and capers.......florals on the chicken not the wine......
