My first experience with Heitz, and it was a good one. Very classic Napa bottling, with lots of fruit but savory and woody elements too. Not overdone or overblown. Enjoyable right out of the gate, and better hours later. Probably a little young. I would hold for a year or two or decant ahead of serving. Price seems about right for what you get (relative to other Napa Cabs).
Good wine to serve with friends during the World Cup. Spicey and a bit hot up front. Tannins linger suggesting some depth, raspberry later as the heat falls away. Complimented the chicken breast in white wine and capers.......florals on the chicken not the wine......
A very solid representation of well balanced Cali cab. Nose was showing berries and forest. On the palate the wine was medium bodied with blackberry, earth, cassis and some toasted oak. Not overpowering and elegant in nature. Smooth finish with a hint of tannin lingering. Great qpr.
