Really enjoyable. Light and crisp but with an overlay of red fruit. The fruit gave depth to the wines balanced structure.

Typical Burgundy Pinot Noir aroma, lots of tannins. Could probably have aged more. Not bad, but overpriced because it is not better than a decent generic red Burgundy.

Second time with this wine. Lovely volume and texture to the dark red and slightly blue fruits, tossing in a whiff of flint. Finishes long and balanced. Drinking nicely now, but will still be good (I think) in 5 years.

Pale cherry red in color. Delicious, inviting nose that combines bright red cherry and raspberry fruit with some sweet cinnamon baking spice and a slightly smoky-herbal savory character, like seared meat and rosemary, that reminds me of a pork roast. With air, the rosemary and smoke develop and grows into more of a fragrant evergreen and earth smell, like a forest in the winter. There are fresh and dried roses in there too. A really surprisingly good and layered nose; the only detractor is a prickle of alcohol. Really good on the palate too—the fruit is juicy but still with a just-ripe bite of acid, the spice comes through very well, and the finish is quite dry and quite long, leaving behind mostly cherry juice and cinnamon. The tannins are mild but just present enough and silky-refined, and the texture is light and smooth.

This is really, really good for the money in an absolute sense, and frankly unbelievably good value in Burgundy. Well made, well balanced pinot with some character and complexity. Wish I had more.

Decanted for an hour. Not explosive on the nose, but what's there is quite alluring. Dark pinot fruit, hints of perfume, resin and a musk funk. On the palate, easy drinking. Not a ton of structure. Generally agree with Burghound re: start drinking it 2017 with two caveats. First, it's quite pleasant now. Second, while probably better in 2017 (or even 2016), I don't perceive the bones for extended aging. I think the peak is a year or two off, but might be rather short, at least for my tastes. FWIW. Good QPR at $25. A nice change of pace for me, given a cellar that trends more heavily to domestic pinot.

Decanted for about 30 mins. Very nice bouquet of red cherries, with a bit of abeetrooty, earthy aspect to it. The palate is light, with some tannins, light cherry. Not super impressive, but nice enough. Probably needs food to go with it. Still alive though and could last a few more years in the cellar.

Dark pinot aromas. A rich and masculine Burgundy with good concentration. On the negative side it is somewhat rustique and lacks finnesse.

Burgundy Tasting (Ivy, George Street, Sydney): Medium minus intensity aromas that are stalky and funky, citrus and something very earthy….Juicy, round and a little tart carries medium plus finish and some mid palate chalkiness. Good but not for me.

Compact, tight and linear on the palate but with a very high expression on the nose. Taught on the finish as well resolving in its acids in tannin. In other words, appears at this point to be absolutely classy wine but still needs more time. Frankly, I might give this guy another three years before trying a bottle. But the stuffing is there.

Beautiful wine on pop and pour. Some burgundy funk, upfront fruit initially then subdued, plenty of acids - well balanced wine and quite good.

I'm a big fan of the Audoin wines, but this was my first time trying Les Favières. Allen Meadows rates it the highest of all the Audoin crus and says it compares favorably to many premiers crus; I can see why. The wine was closed upon opening, but became delicious after 90 minutes or so. It is a substantial and serious wine, with more power and substance than other Audoin wines I have tasted. It has a streak of pepper and even five spice that is balanced by beautiful cherry fruit notes. Initially, I tasted a "hot" quality on the finish that I associate with high alcohol wines (though I doubt that is going on here). In any case, this quality disappeared with time. I expect this wine will improve with age for some time. Excellent qpr.

Très puissant et tannique. Je vais attendre 2-3 ans pour la prochaine. Un fruité très profond et mûr ainsi qu'une structure imposante en font un vin à la fois intimidant et séduisant . Excellent.
