2/29/2024 - Pagr Likes this wine: 92 pointsClosed and tight to begin. Felt acidic and lacking. Opened up at about hour 2 and was still evolving when we finished bottle. Potential is there for another 3-6 years aging. No rush yet |

2/24/2024 - MS86 Likes this wine: 94 pointsThis is a fantastic wine - so good we ordered another online before this one was finished. Juicy and rich like a young Pinot but the 50% CS / 50% Carmenere blend could never be mistaken for Pinot. |

12/29/2023 - hadukla Likes this wine: 95 pointsWow. Just a fantastic wine, beautifully soft & round, balanced with a long, silky finish. A bit on the lighter side but still stands up well to food. Need more bottles, period. |

12/22/2023 - Mimesis Does not like this wine: 86 pointsStarts impressively enough, with a beautiful Cabernet-dominated nose. Initial sips also featured some classy Cabernet Sauvignon fruit. But as it evolved in the glass, the Carmenere asserted itself. Instead of adding structure, its intense iron ore flavor took most of the pleasure away. I put the rest of the bottle away for the night, but on the next it started the the way the previous one ended. The rest is destined for a sauce. Disappointing, especially given the price point. |

8/6/2023 - Harley1199 Likes this wine: NRFamily Holidays; 7/28/2023-9/10/2023 (Alicante - España): Served by the glass. A 50% blend of CS and Carmenère made supposedly from old vines planted by Pedro de Valdivia with the help of lieutenant Quintanilla ;-). Wine aged fourteen months in French oak barrels and then another six in 3000-litre fudres. On the nose aromas of raspberries mixed with blackberries with many notes from invasive wood such as black pepper, vanilla or oak plank. On the palate density triumphs over the acidity but fortunately it does not suppose a fruit pump, rather it offers a fresh face, of firm tannins but soft at the same time with an excellent length. Calm finish, with an almost sweet point, fair alcohol (just 13.5 ABV). Good presentation. |

12/9/2022 - ChateauDutremble Likes this wine: 89 pointsInteresting nose: open, vegetal, spices...celery salt, sandalwood, dried flowers. Starts smooth and fruity then dies quickly on a short peppery finish. Better with air and food. 89- |

Classic cassis with earthy loam and cocoa notes. Tannins completely integrated. Long finish. This has developed into a magnificent wine, and seems at its peak right now (wouldn’t hold longer.) WOTN vs ‘06 and ‘15 Neyen, or ‘06 and ‘16 Clos Apalta. Paired with braised short ribs. |

11/2/2022 - nsellen Likes this wine: 92 pointsOK, I’m over the bottle weight now. This has improved since its last outing. Creamy, rounded ripe black fruit. Extra fine tannins, medium minus acidity. It has a herbal, pine resin note together with a smoky edge. It is super well made. Balanced with a tarry peppery mid and finish. It has weight but it’s not overpowering. I love it and it’s not even my last bottle! High praise indeed. |

9/20/2022 - nsellen wrote: NRThis is in a good place with food right now. Still a rich wine with plenty of fruit and herbal elements. It seems more balanced, less sweet than earlier bottles. Ok, it is undoubtedly smooth but if I were to term it glossy and luxe, would that make it more appealing? Whatever, I will continue to enjoy this case. I’m not sure I would bother to give new vintages the necessary cellar time and space. Perhaps I’ll seek out some older vintages. |

1/30/2022 - rjsmall Likes this wine: NRDeep, dense red colour. Peppers and dark fruits on nose - quite tight. Green pepper, dark berries and a slight herbal taste almost mint like. Smooth and round, this is very enjoyable. Medium to long finish. I think another six months to a year and this will be in a prefect spot. |

12/6/2021 - nsellen wrote: 89 pointsYes, that bottle. Bonkers. Deep ruby and pretty dense but clear. Nose of blackcurrant and medicine chest. Also a whiff of curry leaf. On day 1 this was too big for me, unsubtle and a bit monolithic. Not tannic but chewy. Day 2 with a roast dinner showed much more nuance. Well flavoured, good acidity and balance. |
