Great balancing acidity to the slightly sweet attack which seems less so from memory of younger bottles. Nice slightly chalky finish which is mouth watering and begs for another sip. Unfortunately my last bottle of a great run, as bottles of this kind of provenance should easily drink for several more years. Great food companion this evening especially with a flavorful Thai yellow Currie with shrimp. |

2/1/2024 - BHRH Likes this wine: 88 pointsSlow ox 30 minutes. Petrol and slightly ripe pear on the palate along with a dollop of minerals. On the palate honeysuckle and peach are almost overwhelmed by the tangy acidity of fresh lime. Maybe even a touch of bitterness. More minerality and acid on the finish. If you have the right food this balances out a bit, but not good as an aperitif alone. Will wait another year to see if this smooths out at all. |
