Luminous gold. Heartbreaking bouquet of baked apples, peaches and cream and macadamia nuts. Toasted notes. Shredded coconut, squeezed limes, lime zest. Unctuous, glyceric and fatty. Very fat in fact - positively bulging with fatty globules of joy. Absurdly pleasurable and explosively fragrant. Expansive and endlessly giving. Generous in every conceivable way. A sensational wine. Deep emotion.

One of the very few, if not the only, disappointing wines I've ever had from this top tier, but under-the-radar, Rheingau producer. There are one-dimensional citric fruit and minerality here, but the wine is a little too dry for its own good on the finish and also finishes slightly bitter. Better with food than on its own. Cellared since original release.

There are peach and lots of apricot on a much more muted nose than the Charta. Good palate. Nice precision and balance. Works well.
