Really blooms impressively with a good decant. Everything happens synergistically here, and the nice bit of minerality adds subtle brushstrokes to this wonderfully earthy supertuscan's ouevre of bramble and woodland noise. Dark decadence from top to bottom. |

Tannins are quite smooth, with nice acidity. Medium-length finish. Doesn't compare to the '13 Argiano that we had the other night, but a decent BdM nonetheless. |

Very appealing bright black cherry nose but giving way to red cherry on the palate, and with enough complexity to make it very enjoyable. Medium acid and light tannin with a relatively short but pleasant finish. This wine is a great value and has been quite consistent over the years, a favorite everyday wine ever since I first tasted it at Castello Banfi long ago. |

There is a spicy / acidity interplay here at about the hour and a half mark- but this wine proves to be silky smooth, but also maintains a spice edge with good acidity - there's also some mocha, blackberry, black cherry and cassis on the lingering finish. |
