Tannins are mostly integrated. Shortish finish. Good QPR. Can definitely cellar another couple of years but with an hour or two decant it’s ready to go. |

On the palate, flat fruit flavor notes with very unpleasant bitterness only exceeded by too grippy tannins. This vintage highly promoted by Wine Access, not a good day for their recommendations. |

Deep black fruit nose with nice hints of oak. Seems to have an extra dimension lurking (cocoa) that should be fully revealed with more time. Palate is rich and smooth with just a hint of bitterness from substantial but chewy tannin. This is a helluva nice Bordeaux from a good vintage at a small price. Very few better values around, at least at Costco's price. And it should age very well to boot. 5-13-16-8: 92/100. |

This bottle was a gift so not sure how it was cellared in the 20+ years before it got to me but this was limp and thin. Nose has ambitions of a fine claret but there is almost no fruit left. As it opened up to air, a hint fruit becomes apparent, but the defining characteristic even after two hours in the decanter is a metallic bitterness. A perfectly-stored bottle may fare better. |
