12/25/2023 - camroc830 Likes this wine: 94 pointsThis is only a step down from the luscious 2015 if you forget to aerate it. I've found that double aerating it opens the first glass perfectly. Putting a half bottle away under the cork overnight makes the 2nd day fine, too. Again, there's a commingling of mild citrus, spice, earth, and floral supporting a hint of berries. Quite nice on the nose and palate. Mellow, smooth tannins. Wonderful, lingering finish. Goes well by itself and with spiced food. Again, just delightful, with a super QPR. This has become my go to wine; I drink it almost daily. I just hope Durantou's daughters continue to build upon his legacy. |

This is too young - flavours are not integrated and the tannins are still very harsh, almost burning in the mouth. On day 3 it's somewhat more integrated but still very harsh. Best thing about it now is the aftertaste, with good length and very tasty fruit. Could be much better in 5 years or so, shame I don't have another bottle. |
