  • Alas, we did not decant and clearly saw the difference over the evening as the wine opened up over time. Once more open a pleasure to drink. I think one of the comments suggested two hour decant and would agree!

  • Decant, decant, and don't forget to decant for several hours or you will miss out on this inexpensive gem!
My last bottle. I brought this to the wine watch for an open tasting and got harassed for bringing a cheap Bordeaux. It just wasn't open enough. 24 Hours later, this is the "mouse that roared" kind of great, but inexpensive Bordeaux. The nose is bakery shop, and the color is still quite young. The palate is full of black cherry, some coffee, and a hint of chocolate going down with smooth resolved tannins that elicit a grip and some acid that is well balanced.
    Well done, cheap Bordeaux.

  • Slumbering? Dusty tannins, reticent. Pleasant taste, but fruit a bit suppressed. I wonder if it will open in a couple of years? (Ever the optimist)

  • similar to last year's tasting. Vegetal and no fun, even after several hrs decant. Undrinkable. Bought upon release, shipping issues maybe?

  • The last 3 notes below capture the character of this wine. I have a glass here now and I recommend that you don't even think about drinking this wine without a 2 hour decant as it starts to open then. The nose at that point is white flowers and leather. There is acid and bright red fruits on the palate and some chewiness on the back end for the correct balance. It seems light in character to some other Bordeaux and it's in a good spot to drink now.
