This is hardly showing any age at all. I struggled to get much on the nose. Lighter bodied than the Ampeau, and much more youthful and simple to me. Ann preferred this one, but I thought the wine sort of got lost in the mix. This would likely show better on its own, when you could spend some more time with it.

Dark color face me some concern, but aromas were fresh enough and flavors even brighter. Lots of mature apple and some caramel apple with good weignt, better length, and very good balance. Leftovers held up well into the third day.

This has held up amazingly
Fruit remains remarkably fresh, floral notes
Hits the bar with richness and nut oil
Lime, verbena, bracken and honey are all identifiable
Fills the mouth gloriously on the finish
95 for genius winemaking

We wanted a well-oxidized Burgundy to pair with lobster bisque, and this delivered perfectly. I can't really gauge quality on a wine that has transformed so much over time. The bottle and wine held up well to time.

Blind White Burgundy: The single blind lineup was:
- 2011 Domaine William Fevre Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos
- 2016 Louis Jadot (Duc de Magenta) Chassagne-Montrachet "Morgeot - Clos de la Chapelle"
- 2014 Xavier Monnot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatieres
- 2012 Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Vaillon
- 1990 Fabien Coche-Bouillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatieres
- 2018 Rombauer Vineyards Chardonnay Carneros
- 2013 St Innocent Shea Pinot Noir (Bonus Red)

This wine was the most distinct in that there was significant oxidation. I am marking it flawed because I don't want to negatively score it, but it'd be in the 87 range the way it was drinking. The reason is that beyond the oxidation there was a pleasant caramelly profile and some biting acidity that really stood out. I would have happily consumed this at home by myself, but in this tasting it was definitely the laggard.

Virtual White Burgundy Tasting (Home): Medium gold color. PNP and poured into vessels at 4:15, sealed and poured into glasses around 6:30 or in my case a bit after 7pm; drank a glass single blind over 2.5 hours. There wasn't any doubt which wine this was. Definitely the darkest of color, though not that dark actually. Still it was fairly oxidized. The minerality shows, the citrus is there, but overshadowed, lacquer/mineral spirit notes, lemon oil, honeyed. When these are on they are fantastic, but maybe sitting around 87 points tonight. Correctly identified.

Zooming through Burgundy and Chablis!: The theme for this Zoom tasting was white Burgundy/Chablis. The host also threw in a Rombauer Chardonnay to keep us honest. The wines were poured in jars for transport around 4:00-4:30 and then transported and poured into glasses at 6:15, and drank over the next couple hours. Pours were approx 5 oz. The line-up included the following:

- 2011 Domaine William Fevre Chablis Grand Cru Les Clos
- 2016 Louis Jadot (Duc de Magenta) Chassagne-Montrachet "Morgeot - Clos de la Chapelle"
- 2014 Xavier Monnot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatieres
- 2012 Vincent Dauvissat Chablis 1er Cru Vaillon
- 1990 Fabien Coche-Bouillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatieres
- 2018 Rombauer Vineyards Chardonnay Carneros
- 2013 St Innocent Shea Pinot Noir (Bonus Red)

The wines were served single blind and results were as follows: Group's top 3: Number 1 was the Rombauer (huge surprise); number 2 was the 2011 Fevre Les Clos; and number 3 was the 2012 Dauvissat Chablis. My order was: (1) 2018 Rombauer; (2) 2014 Xavier Monnot Les Folatieres; (3) 2011 Fevre Les Clos; (4) 2012 Dauvissat Chablis; (5) Jadot Morgeot - Clos de la Chapelle; and (6) 1990 Fabien Les Folatieres. All wines were very good, except the 1990 Fabien was oxidized, but still drinkable.

- 1990 Fabien Coche-Bouillot Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Folatières: Oxidized, but still drinkable. I would like to try a perfect bottle of this wine. The nose was poor, with oxidation dominating all scents, although a little butterscotch and scorched earth came through. The palate was much better. Oxidation still present, but not as dominant as on the nose. You could still taste the underlying fruit and minerality. Salty fish, coupled with some citrus, sea shell and limestone were all present. As I said, a drinkable bottle, but not one I feel I can officially score. Unofficially, 88-89....drinkable, but not too enjoyable. However, you can tell a good bottle would score well. My number 6 out of 6.

Same Btl as R&Rler. Served along side a '15 Raveneau Butteaux and '07 PYCM Corton CC, this was clearly the most fully realized blt showing the most ethereal elegance and placidity. This was just lovely with terrific minerality. If only, we could count on more blts, this age, to perform like this one has. The likelyhood of premox scares the crap out of me since when you buy these old btls, you own them. That said, I'm going after some of these. Thanks Kevin! What a great 3 btl flight of 3 wines uniquely different from each other!

Heidi's Redux Group: Memorable Wines (Ciao Bella, Mpls): Amazingly light gold color. PNP, drank a glass plus over 90 minutes. This was right there with the best of the bottles we've had. Stunningly fresh and bright on both the nose and palate. Lemon oil, briny, citrus zest, fennel seed, wet stones, and a burst of wihite flowers on the nose. The palate is focused and lifted, excellent concentration, driven by the wet stone minerality. There is a complex mix of fruit with lemon, lime, apple, and hints of tangerine oil, citrus zest, taut with great cut. Poised and precise, amazing again. 95+ to 96pts.

Stunner of the night. Youthful color and texture; doesn't look ten years old let alone 29. Pear, orchard fruit, calcium and limestone. Score based on relatively impossibility of any white wine to age like this. WOW.

Unbelievably youthful and young; hardly any nose except a bunch of band-aid, lots of white kind of bland chalk. Not much going on here, perfect shape, clear color, maybe old absorbed reduction; can't believe this is 1990. Grape shape, but uninteresting. EWG Green Street Tavern

Apparently the owner of Au Sauvignon likes this one more. When I clarified that this was a "negociant" wine and the other "propriétaire", he changed his frown and was surprised by what the Spaniards can know. Another lesson that deserves to be learned, monsieur.

Not quite at the level of the Meursault Charmes 90 from this producer but a beauty nonetheless. Seamless, perfect integration, just lacking the power and heft for a higher score. Still, for 28 years old, fantastic showing.

Big Bordeaux XIV: Featuring 1982 and 1990 (Rocknroller's (Kevin & Vicki's Place)): Medium gold color. Drank 1 glass over an hour. This was another bottle showing more aging character. There's enough to like here, particularly on the palate, but not the revelatory bottles of the past.. The nose is a bit odd with cedar, beeswax, and lemon pledge on the nose with less distinct minerality. The palate shows plenty of flinty minerality, lemon, honey, and lemon oil with some oxidative character.
