5/15/2016 - dfeiner Does not like this wine: 85 pointsThis doesn't really work for me. It has a cinnamon, nutmeg and nutty flavor that would make me guess chardonnay before I would say vermentino. It doesn't have the focus, bite or cut of a Ligurian version. |

12/24/2015 - TheyCallMeSmalls Likes this wine: 91 pointsA spicy Gruner! Lemony yellow. Nose of rose, peach, lanolin and lots of white pepper. Medium body, slightly waxy mouthfeel. Palate dominated by the abundance of pepper, but balanced with flavors of peach, apricot and arugula. |

11/15/2015 - subtlet Likes this wine: NRThe nose shows spicy roast beef aromas, with cloves and black pepper in the mix. Firm structure is present across the entire palate. Light pomegranate flavors hit on contact, and a hint of rose petals rolls across the middle. Structure dominates the experience on the mid palate right now. Great blackberry flavors swirl underneath this weight, and they linger well into the finish. It's a little big for me right now, but I do look forward to tasting it with some age. The complexity and flavors are here now, and some softening of the structure will take it a long way. |

2013 Holden Wine Company Pinot Noir Bjornson VineyardEola - Amity Hills more |
11/15/2015 - subtlet Likes this wine: NRThis is dark on the nose, with rad earth and pomegranates brooding. It's a full wine on the palate, but still distinctly Pinot Noir. Full acid races across the palate supporting pomegranate and cherry flavors. This definitely breaks the cliche' of what one can expect from 2013, and will appeal to those who like dark character in their wines without too much weight. |

11/15/2015 - subtlet wrote: NRPears and grapefruit aromas flow from the glass with the feeling of perfume. It's light on contact, growing into full flavors of limes, yellow apples, and spice. It's direct, but pure, with good flavors. It would be easy to drink a lot of this. |

11/15/2015 - subtlet Likes this wine: NRThe nose is light here, with faint pear aromas. Light pears show on the palate as well, with fruit and skins intact. There is good texture here, along with a floral touch, making for a pleasant and simple white. |

9/5/2014 - David Paris (dbp) wrote: 89 pointsCool, skin macerated Pinot Blanc. This spent 7 months on the skin. Hugely interesting aromas. Very intense and rich. Like funky, candied melon. Also, like you were trying to melt some Jarlsberg cheese but instead burnt it a little bit. Hmm... so all combined, it's like you took some melon flavored Skittles, hit them with a torch, and poured Jarlsberg on it. Neat! Pretty interesting palate, but takes some time to blossom. Puckering notes and light tannins. Nice grassy, metallic lemon on top of a melon. Wow, the finish theen steps into model airplane glue poured on metal filings with lime juice on top. Pretty rich, with nice intensity and lingers well. This wine is hugely interesting but a bit awkward at times. It offers 88 points of enjoyment but 89 points of interest, as it's quite oblong at times. Fun stuff, though! |

8/22/2013 - dsgris Likes this wine: 91 pointsVery light red, almost rose. Lilac nose, dry, floral with a good acid component. Light body and fruit, very refreshing, clean with a light tart finish with some mineral notes. Good summer red, like a rose on steroids. 12% alc, so you can drink prodigious amounts, enjoy now. |

5/3/2013 - ucbeau Likes this wine: NRWhen poured, this looks almost exactly like a traditional Willamette Valley Pinot Noir rose, but it's not. Beautiful aromas of tart cranberry and cherry, white pepper, and dusty soil all become apparent as the wine opens. It's light on its feet, with plenty of acidity to support the bright red fruit flavors. Supporting the fruit, I found more white pepper and earth tones, as well as some interesting baking spice too. Overall, an absolutely delicious, dangerously quaffable wine. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (3) |

4/2/2013 - Wicker Parker Likes this wine: NRThis fine-boned pinot noir speaks quietly in a true voice; it lacks nothing for expressiveness. Saline minerality is its hallmark, and it's nicely structured by slightly tart red-fruited acidity, a savory complexion, and reserved yet firm tannins. One of the better 2011 WV pinots I've tried. |

12/2/2012 - Wicker Parker Likes this wine: NRVibrant, snappy pinot blanc that clocks in at 11.4% and comes across like a floral Muscadet, chalky and acid-driven and a bit leesy. Good presence and length on the palate. Spontaneous / native fermentation. |
