On the nose, I get cherry, scrub, and strawberry notes. In the mouth, this is a plush and enveloping wine, displaying cherry sauce coupled with ripe red berries. The finish continues the theme, with lingering red fruit and a slight sweetness. Overall, I found this to be a modern Brunello, but one that was very nice today and should have some years left in the tank. 91 points. |

Veldig bra konsentrasjon, god lengde, flott syre, begynnende modne lange tanniner, sursøte kirsebær, jordbær, balsamico, noe sjokolade, mandel og tørket frukt. Flott nå, men vil trolig utvikle seg positivt i årene som kommer. Bra kjøp til prisen. |

This is yet another old Gaja Brunello which proves that the Tuscan bottlings require, and deserve, as much time in bottle as those from Piedmont. Intense ripeness, almost like a fruit liqueur, spice, sweet cigar leaf, and this incredible dense structure lifted by broad tannins and oak - which is expertly integrated. Beautiful by all accounts and a wine that I'd like to revisit in 2 to 3 years. |

Very smooth and long finish with a touch of something cool that is almost Cabernet-like and also a little spice. We drank this with an Italian beef stew made with a basic Barbera D'Asti, lemon and thyme roast potatoes and baked beetroots; it was somewhat predictably a great match but there is undoubtedly enough to this wine to deal with heavier dishes. |
