Decanted and drank. Aromas of balsamic, umami, dried raspberry and a bit of funk. Flavors of raspberry, balsamic, iron, earth and dried cherry. Ends with a 35-40 second finish with dried cherry and balsamic notes. Probably needed more air and the nose got a little more funk than I like but this was top notch.

WOW nose of balsamic, cèpes de Bordeaux, sous-bois... WOW super silky tannins, ripe red strawberries and red berries, soy sauce, roasted meat, still young and vibrant, lenght of 45 sec!!

Coravined this. This is probably the oldest brunello I've had so far. It's held up decently, purchased earlier this year from WHWC (cellar acquisition) so unsure of provenance. On the nose, some sweet cherry, light tertiary notes of leather/cedar as well, with some air, the fruit comes forward some more. On the palate, acidity is definitely there (med+), tannins are sort of there (med), a bit chalky there so the finish isn't super smooth but it is decently long. Also a bit vegetal flavors as well. Had on its own but would prefer with some carbs (pizza or pasta).
About an hour of air , super strong tannins , some secondary nose, plenty of acid , a little on taste ..........very drinkable , suggest a burger to go with this

(Pieve Santa Restituta (Gaja) Brunello di Montalcino Rennina) Bricking, medium red color with pale meniscus; mature, somewhat oxidized, dried cherry, roses, dried berry nose; mature, dried cherry, dried berry, tar palate, a little better on the palate than the nose suggests, but goes downhill after 20 minutes in the glass; medium finish

Corked. Was very slight. One of those bottles where you taste it on one sip and the next you don’t.
