12/14/2023 - jkscully Likes this wine: NRTasted on 12/14/23: Cherry and plum fruit with lots of vegetal/ratatouille flavors (maybe a bit too much on the vegetal and jalapeno flavors). Faint hints of vanilla and carob. I like the acidity—this was really great with an Italian sandwich (chicken cutlet, eggplant, roasted red peppers, and fresh mozz), the rustic brightness was just the right thing. I also liked it with a tagliatelle with spiced butter. I didn’t compare this with an Octagon, but I did have it after two Virginia Bordeaux style wines and this was similar in style, but probably a step up from both of them. There’s just a little more life. I’m a fan. |

9/22/2023 - WineGuyX Likes this wine: 90 pointsThis was opened several days ago and was SO grapey, I relegated it to the refrigerator. Now, it is starting to come into balance with an aroma that smells like Cabernet! Very ripe red and black currants and a bit of tomato leaf, mint, bell pepper and lots of vanilla and oak. Full-bodied, this is loaded with sweet fruit, but also structured. The tannins are of good quality and there's acidity too. Drink now (but preferably 2025) - 2029 90+ |

8/25/2023 - Siwink57 wrote: 88 pointsNot a terrible wine for $20. The wine is pale for a cab and lighter bodied like a Pinot. Some sediment and not much structure. Expected more for a 2015 vintage. Do not see any future upside 3.6 stars. |

12/25/2022 - herbtcat Likes this wine: 92 pointsNow that it's got 8 years in storage, it's showing well. The theme for this Sonoma Cab is balance. Slight spices mixed with dried dark fruit on the nose, medium tannins work well with moderate to big ripe cherries and wet granite on the palate. Finish was almost long enough... but that just made me anxious for my next sip. The 2015 Tara Bella's are ready now and maybe for the next 2 years. I recommend not waiting. |

7/2/2022 - bestdamncab Likes this wine: 93 pointsBirthday Party-6 MAGNUMS (Walnut Creek, Ca.): From magnum, this winery was great for a few years as the owner created it to sell in my opinion, from the great 1997 vintage, nose of black berry, cedar, and earth, same on the palate, big body, mouth filling fruit, very tasty, big body, the best Cabernet Sauvignon today, rich fruit, at peak in magnum otherwise drink up, and a long finish, photo uploaded. |

7/29/2022 - prasm wrote: 89 pointsPnP, consumed over 3 hours. Appearance: Somewhat hazy - showing quite a bit of sediment, dark ruby with edge bricking. Nose: Clean, developed aromas of saddle leather, fig, black cherry, bell pepper, and spice. Palate: Dry, medium acid, medium+ silky soft tannin, medium+ body, 13.4% abv, medium intensity with developed flavors of dried cherry, bell pepper, and tobacco with a medium finish. Overall a very good wine at or just past peak dominated by tertiary characteristics, drink now. |

3/14/2022 - jkscully wrote: NRCherry with jalapeno, wet earth, violet, chocolate, and vanilla. I would have thought Cab Franc because of the spicy pepper flavors and floral aromas. Good acidity, which keeps it fresh and happy. As it takes in more air, the texture thickens and more plum, licorice, and dark fruit flavors emerge. |

2/20/2022 - jkscully Likes this wine: NRDelightfully oldschool with bright acidity. On day 1, it tasted a bit too tart and I wanted some more fruit flavors, but things settled down nicely on day 2, when I detected more cherry and plum flavors, bell pepper ratatouille, Christmas spices, violet, and some faint hints of chocolate. Black pepper on the finish. Reminds me of Bordeaux or Virginia (there’s some wet red clay flavors in there) more than Napa and that’s not a bad thing. |

11/6/2021 - herbtcat Likes this wine: 91 pointsWorth the wait. When 1st tasted 2 years after release, it was just too green. But now, with 9 years of patience, it's living up to it's reputation. Big bouquet on the nose of spice, vanilla, plums, then full-bodied fruit supported by moderate structure of mushrooms and roasted plums. Followed by a lingering finish that pleases the senses. |

3/27/2021 - 1961Vintage Does not like this wine: 80 pointsI dont check a lot of dont likes. This is one that tipped the scales easily. Far too heavily weighted to the greenness and stemminess factors for my taste. While some may prefer this style, I do not. While the level of herbaceousness did recede some from my first bottle, the last was no less disappointing. |

8/16/2020 - jkscully Likes this wine: NRBrambly fruit with coffee flavors and some poblano pepper. Wet stones on the finish. Some funky mushroom flavors too. Decent acid and still tightly wound. Needs more time. A little disjointed right now, but good potential. |

6/14/2020 - herbtcat Likes this wine: 92 pointsClassic Napa Cab. Really needed the 7 years on it's side to develop and achieve perfect balance. Glad I have more. Best advice for all Tara Bella vintages - let them lay down for a minimum of 5 years. This one could be even better over the next 2-5 years. |
