Quite enjoyable, quite smooth, nose of olives, like a Cornas. Lot of fruit still available so I would guess it will continue to improve over the next couple of years. One of the better Santa Barbara syrahs I have had.

This stuff is pretty amazing and it just got better and better over a 5 hour period. Best rose I have ever had and I've had some great ones (Lopez de Heredia Gran Riserva Rosado, Valentini Cerasuolo, Ch Simone, Peyrassol (Le Clos Peyrassol), Tempier, Bagnol, other Clos Cibonne roses and many more). Could easily stand up to some grand cru whites. Also agree with previous notes, that its color is more orange than pink and it definitely has a touch of oak on it. Really delicious.

Quite good, opened up nicely. Very enjoyable, loads of fruit, but very balanced. Some browning which gives away it's age. No need to wait on this any longer, in a good drinking window now.

Good stuff. Needs about 15-20 minutes to open up fully. Nicely aged Chateauneuf. Elegant but with good CdP grip.

Opened up nicely. I tad of heat on the palate, but the flavors really came out after a couple hours. Definitely more old world in style but the touch of heat and the hint of sweetness of the fruit also pointed to California. Still a very nice wine overall and one that pairs well with food. Should continue to hold together for some time to come.

I guess it's good if you enjoy heavily oaked pinot noir that has hints of soy and teriyaki. But as it opened up a bit, I got more of a cherry cola flavor.

Spectacular. Beautiful perfume, great balance of burgundy fruit with the subtlety of a 22 year old wine. Flavors of strawberry and cherry, great length on the finish.

A truly unique wine. At first there are aromas of fermented apricot and apple, a little like armagnac, but without the heavy alcohol/spirits quality. The flavor really comes forth after about 30 minutes in the decanter. A rich, ponderous wine, more for winter sipping along with a little foie gras.

Not sure if this was in the best of shape, as there was a tiny hint of oxidation in the wine. Not a bad wine, and it had had good length and a decent acidity. I thought it was an ok wine, but not all that impressive. I came back the next day to the wine and not much had changed.

Was pretty good. Decent length to the wine, good structure and fruit, although nothing amazing. Good acidity but a bit green. The wine was decanted for a few hours, which seemed to help open up the wine. But again, a nice wine, but nothing earth shattering. Not sure I understand the very high ratings on this wine. I have had older Pichlers that were better. And also I think the top rieslings from Alsace are much better than this wine too. But to each his own.

Very impressive. Still has good acidity, very well structured fruit. Tasted like a great old Auslese. Nice sweetness to the wine, with hints of peach, orange.

Very floral with great length. Tropical notes, with great orchard fruit flavors and the 14% alcohol well hidden. This wine can keep aging for longer. Very enjoyable. Goes great with food with a little spice to it.

Fruit mostly gone. It develop a nice burgundian aroma, but the palate never matched the nose. There was a small moment where it had a little spice, but for the most part the fruit was gone and palate was dead. Not too surprising since the wine was made by Chartron et Trebuchet.

Whooa, massive wine, too much really. It needs food but would really overwhelm anything. Reminds me of a massive modern Aussie shiraz from the 90s. Maybe you could pair it with BBQ ribs or chicken or some really strong blue cheese. Not for me.

Not bad, most of the sweetness has dried out at this point and tastes more like an amarone. Nice secondary plums and raisin flavors dominate. Drinking well and unlikely to improve much from here.

A tad too hot for my taste. There are hints of creme brulee and lemon meringue here, but there is an over-riding sense of heat/alcohol that is not covered with the flavors of the wine. It is a little like California chardonnay alcohol with hints of white burgundy flavors. Structurally it is a sound wine, no premox, good length to the flavors, and it is holding together nicely, but it is just not close to the level of the 2001 and 2002 Ramonet wines I have had lately. I guess this is par for the course with 2003 burgundy.

I found this to be really sensational. Hints of apple, lemon, creme, mint, spice, with chalkiness and good intensity. This got better and better with more time in the glass, making me believe this wine still have many good years ahead of it. My last glass of the wine, about three hours after the bottle was opened was my favorite. It maybe doesn't have the power or super rich intensity of the Batard or Montrachet, but it has a good mix of intensity and elegance to it that is very appealing. As previous reviewer mentions, it is bottles like these that makes one forgive the sins of the premox problem in burgundy.

At first it was a little muted but this was quite nice and really came around and opened up after a two hour decant. Had great structure and has really come out of its shell, showing a nice burgundian elegance. Flavors of raspberry, strawberry, a little cherry. Nice spice on the wine too. A pleasure to drink.

Quite a nice flavor of peaches and apricot. The sweetness has integrated well, and there is a sense of that petrol like quality that you often get from older riesling. But it all works together very well, a lovely wine, which goes especially well food or cheese.

Interesting wine, strong smell of olives on the nose, dark cherries on the palate. An interesting wine, a little like a Cornas, although I wouldn't say it is as good as a top Cornas. Wine has a lot of sediment, so would recommend decanting it.
