4/4/2015 - Bordsvinet Likes this wine: 94 pointsPowerful and very open on the nose with notes of dark and red berries, tar, violets, stoney minerals and herbs. Very concentrated on the palate with a super-long finish of autumn leafs, truffles and perfume. Nice acidity and fresh fruit. An outstanding wine, ready to drink now. |

4/4/2015 - Bordsvinet Likes this wine: 92 pointsVery complex and harmonious right now with smooth tannins. The nose is extraordinary with its sweet red berries, roses, tar and paint. The mouth-feeling is amazing with all parts melted together in a super-balanced, complex unity. |

2004 Château Chasse-SpleenMoulis en Médoc Red Bordeaux Blend more |
4/4/2015 - Bordsvinet Likes this wine: 89 pointsA great wine with classical notes of currant, toasted coffee and cedar tree. Also some not that disturbing modern notes of vanilla and chocolate. Medum-bodied like we want it with elegance and finesse. Lacks a little complexity to be an outstanding wine. |

2007 Delas Frères Hermitage Les BessardsSyrah more |
9/6/2014 - Bordsvinet Likes this wine: NROn the nose fine notes of red berries, citrus and chalky dust. On the palate great harmony with integrated acidity, perfectly ripe red berries and elegant mineral. The finish is silky and smooth. A great, flawless wine with perfect development right now. |

9/6/2014 - Bordsvinet wrote: NRBig and bold with lots of toasted oak, sweet fruit and heat from alcohol. In between you will find black smoke notes, almost like burnt coal, and also some minerals. Some around the table really like the richness while others find it heavy and clumsy, almost undrinkable. If you appreciate the style (or if you happen to be Robert Parker) you will love this wine, otherwise you shall pass. |

2006 Domaine Léon Barral Faugères ValinièreMourvèdre Blend, Mourvèdre more |
9/6/2014 - Bordsvinet Likes this wine: NROn the nose wide open with reductive nuances of red apples, rose hip, oranges and cow dung. On the palate very acidic, almost like red apples vinegar, with soft tannins. Sour cherries, lemons, black olives and some barnyard notes. Great length and concentration. If you like wines with great personality you should try this, otherwise you'll get extremely disappointed. This is indeed a special wine. |

2006 Rotari Trento Flavio TalentoChardonnay more |
9/6/2014 - Bordsvinet Does not like this wine: 81 pointsExtremely earthy, non-fresh mineral notes, also some raw yeast and a rather weak, pale melon-like fruit. Weak mousse and acidity. Rotari's standard vintage wine is much better (and cheaper). |

1996 R. & L. Legras Champagne Grand Cru Saint-VincentChardonnay more |
9/6/2014 - Bordsvinet Likes this wine: 91 pointsA fresh Champagne, still rather youthful. Complex notes of apples, minerals, coffee and chocolate. Long and rich on the finish. Indeed flawless but also lacks a little of personality and that wow-factor you're looking for in a wine in the price range. |

6/6/2014 - Bordsvinet Likes this wine: 93 pointsAmazingly complex and full of nuances on the nose with spices and perfume, young of course yet open and generous. Beautiful balance on the palate with red berries and stoney minerals. Drinks well now but fresh blood grape-acidity and elegant tannins makes this a wine to keep. |

2008 Domaine Jean Grivot Clos VougeotClos Vougeot Grand Cru Pinot Noir more |
6/6/2014 - Bordsvinet Likes this wine: 91 pointsYouthful, really pinot-ish on the nose with great complexity. Wild strawberries, violets, perfume, earth, autumn leaves and wet fur. High acidity and still a little oak-bitter tannins. Red berries, flowers and perfume. Great length and an elegant finish. This wine was clearly consumed too early. |

2008 Domaine Jean Grivot BourgognePinot Noir more |
6/6/2014 - Bordsvinet Likes this wine: 87 pointsDeveloped nose with sweet strawberries, leather, spices and smokey minerals. On the palate soft and fresh, nicely developed, with sweet red berries, leather and wool. Well-balanced oak that adds no bitterness, only depth. Easy-drinking but not without complexity. Drink now. |

2008 Domaine Jean Grivot Bourgogne BlancChardonnay more |
6/6/2014 - Bordsvinet Likes this wine: 87 pointsOxidized and buttery on the nose, clearly developed with lots of yellow apples, plums, almonds and also chalky minerals. Yellow fruit, well-integrated oak and nice mineral notes on the palate. Good concentration and length but a little disturbing Sherry component in the finish. Further cellaring is not recommended. |

5/3/2014 - Bordsvinet Likes this wine: 93 pointsDeep on the palate with raspberries, wild strawberries, perfume, tar and paint, perhaps a little closed at this point though. Amazing depth on the fruit on the palate, really nice oak treatment, some animal notes and flowers. A really rich wine with elegance and balance with typical Piemonte/Nebbiolo feeling. Great now but will probably benefit from further cellaring. |

2004 Roagna Barbaresco PajèNebbiolo more |
5/3/2014 - Bordsvinet Likes this wine: 93 pointsComplex and compact on the nose with layers of nuances like perfume, rose hip, peppermint, ramson, paint, suede and chocolate. On the palate the wine is rather young with huge tannins and acidity. Really balanced and harmonic though and drinkable if you%92re not afraid of some resistance. A great wine with lots of things going on, yet really elegant and juicy. I would keep this wine a few more years before drinking it. |

2004 Roagna Langhe RossoLanghe DOC Nebbiolo more |
5/3/2014 - Bordsvinet Likes this wine: 91 pointsThe wine is medium-bodied and still has a nice freshness and some not too harsh tannins. Almost perfect development, still with complex fruit. We get raspberries, cherries, dried cranberries, strawberries, roses, oriental spices, sandalwood and minerals. Don’t wait too long with this wine, it’s outstanding right now. |

5/3/2014 - Bordsvinet Likes this wine: 92 pointsAn absolutely amazing wine, multilayered and perfectly balanced. Yellow apples, honey, liqourice, smoked meat and massive minerals on the palate. Developed but still fresh with a lot of energy. Fullbodied, concentrated with great length. No need to wait further for this one, enjoy now. |

5/3/2014 - Bordsvinet Likes this wine: 92 pointsSuperfresh and balanced, still youthful of course. Complex on the palate with smokey, salty minerals, gooseberries, netles, sweet green paprika and lime. Really concentrated with great length. Needs a lot of air to open up. |

2004 Antoine Ogier Côte-Rôtie Cardinale de Saint-AngeSyrah more |
5/3/2014 - Bordsvinet wrote: NRUnfortunately way too developed and dusty on the nose with white pepper, herbs, roses and meat stew notes. Pretty soft tannins and fresh acidity. Lots of nuances like red berries, leather, smoked meat and minerals. After some time in the glass the wine crashes totally and shows a lot of nuances of green, bitter, metallic notes. Maybe a bad bottle, a bad wine/vintage or perhaps too old. Won't grade it therefore. |

5/3/2014 - Bordsvinet wrote: NRClearly over the top but still not dead. Lots of spices, dried plums and tomatoes, coffee, dark chocholate and a not so flattering tin can. Round tannins but still pretty good acidity. Should have consumed this one three-four years ago. No grade since we think the wine is too old. |
