9/9/2016 - WineGuyFL Likes this wine: 95 pointsMy first of 6 bottles. Completely lived up to my expectations. Deep/dark with all kinds of dark fruit notes....almost chewy. Decanted 30-45 minutes. Not sure it needed more than that, as it did not improve after 45 minutes as dinner progressed. Could it get better over time? Yes, but no reason not to enjoy some now. 1 person found this helpful, do you? Yes - No / Comments (1) |

8/6/2016 - Longrange380 Likes this wine: 95 points1 hour decant. Wild berries and dark forest in the nose. On the palate licorice and leather, as well some plums. Very classy wine - no fruit bomb. Neverending finish. Great. |

7/6/2016 - Sundbyberg wrote: 91 pointsVery traditional, yet quite sweet, which shows that 2008 was a good year in Pomerol. Also very drinkable but not a lot of finesse. Some oak and tannins, of course. |

Lots of dusty tannins, sweet red fruit, and some emergent secondary characteristics. This is in a really good spot at the moment -- lots of leather, a nice touch of barnyard, and some tart red fruit. |

6/19/2016 - eoinhharkins Likes this wine: 94 pointsJust a fantastic wine, lots of plum, espresso, earth, spices with a really silky smooth mouth feel, with subtle bitterness to the grainy tannins that have a grip on the finish should integrate nicely with more bottle time |

5/5/2016 - slaughterer Likes this wine: 94 pointsBlack with ruby edges. Nose of black cherry, grilled meat, mushrooms, liquorice, earth, cassis. Very smooth medium-weight harmonious palate with alcohol and tannins completely absorbed. Tastes of black cherry, raspberry, strawberry, cassis, black liquorice, tobacco, spice, anise, sauerkraut. Not a hyper-concentrated bruiser, but on the fine side. Lots of depth, complexity and balance, with a lush structure. Peak drinking window right now. |

5/3/2016 - blanquito wrote: NREarly maturity, this is already delicious with 10-15 mins of air. Excellent depth for an 01 with terrific brightness. Perfectly poised between richness and elegance. Smooth without being polished. There are quintessential notes on the nose and palate -- graphite, leather, tobacco, plum -- that just purr Bordeaux, almost like something from bygone era, perhaps even the 1980s ('85 comes to mind). Very accessible already, I think this will improve for at least another decade, gaining nuance and an ever-silkier texture. So classy. A- for today, going higher once at peak. |

5/1/2016 - PanosKakaviatos Likes this wine: NRPomerol panache (Bordeaux, actually tasted during en primeur week): Lovely aromatic elegance, but again we encounter somewhat raw tannins stressing power over grace. Compared to Latour à Pomerol however, tasted just before, this estate is more elegant and more seductive… so I give the benefit of the doubt to barrel aging to sort things out. 91-93 |
