Maybe a little less energy but all the dense fruit is there with plenty of oak influence. Wonder if these wines will roll over if left in the cellar. Would have expected a little more development at this point but then again there is plenty of folks who will absolutely love this wine and the spot it’s in. |

This was decanted for a few hours (can't remember if it was 3 or 4) per the winery's recommendation, and it was singing from the get-go! Lots of wonderful Napa black and red fruit on the nose with some lavender notes, some chocolate and hints of toasty oak. The palate was very expressive and the purity of the fruit shown through with some milk chocolate and sweet toasty oak, and hints of graphite. I probably enjoyed this more than others! A solid 94 for me, and should develop more nuances with some additional age. Drink with a long decant or hold. |
