5/4/2024 - jnewman77 Likes this wine: NRDrank at a wine dinner with friends; initially double decanted; for the first 3 hours this was a nice wine, but was disappointing for what it is. It was light and red fruited with a lovely juicy taste and feel, but felt simple and lacked the depth of an Echezeaux from a good producer. Let it sit for another 3 hours and came back and it seemed to be coming around and transforming. The fruit was bigger and richer, there was classic Vosne spice notes and some black tea; a more complex and appropriate nose. The palate also seemed to have put on quite a bit of weight and was really still beautifully balanced. A baby for sure; if you open one soon decant for a long time. Otherwise just cellar it. |

4/2/2024 - Collector1855 wrote: 96 pointsGrands Jours de Bourgogne - 2022 Clos Vougoet (Chateau de Clos Vougeot): During the Grands Jour de Bourgogne walkabout tasting, no detailed notes. Michel Gros had very different wines than Gros Frere&Soeur. More traditional and in the blue fruit, sous-bois spectrum with attractive aromas as well. Traditional palates will find their wine rather here than there, but it was hard to decide which one I liked more. Both were top showings. Here the Ech was ahead of the CdV, the other way round from Gros Frere&Soeur. |

Well spiced and floral with plump, ripe cherry. Dense and long, this needs a few years for everything to harmonize, but this might be Anne's best vintage of this vineyard. |

Perfectly Vosne spiced with so much red fruit, this was the rare 2010 that isn't perfectly integrated and still needing more cellar time. Group was equally divided between this and Clos Vougeot for 2nd fav of the flight, but I preferred the CV. |

12/31/2021 - oldwines Likes this wine: 94 pointsNew Year's Eve dinner with duck confit and duck breast. Big and hedonistic wine. Rich texture, ripe fruit and noticeably sturdy tannins. Game meat, spice, black cherry and hints of chocolate abound. Long finish. 50% new oak aged, which does show. Needs air and bottle age to be at its best, I think, perhaps 5-10 more years. Excellent with the duck. |
