5/24/2013 - Leomania Likes this wine: 88 pointsWaited too long on the note. This wine has a strong streak of acidity, and I'm certain to look for a good pairing for the last bottle. This was fantastic at the winery but it was paired with a nice little bite of something so I know it can make a good showing. The acidity is too out in front on its own. |

5/20/2013 - Leomania Likes this wine: 89 pointsDrinking wonderfully right now. Notes consistent with previous, but I will say I think the oak is settling down a bit which is good. |

5/19/2013 - Leomania Likes this wine: 90 pointsPurchased at the winery on a closeout, and it's a great deal. Drinking well now and has enough stuffing to cellar another year or two. Red and black fruit, lighter oak signature, medium acidity with fine tannins. Enjoyed a bottle with friends as we ate cheese, salami and crackers after the Taste of Alexander Valley; we all commented on how good it was. |

5/18/2013 - Leomania Likes this wine: 89 pointsVery good. Strawberry/raspberry with gripping acidity. Not too tart, good balance between "almost sweet" and the acid. Perfect now, drink up. |

5/18/2013 - Leomania Likes this wine: 89 pointsCherry, cranberry, oak, medium acidity. A better bottle from the '08 vintage than I expected given the fires that year. Enjoyable. |

5/18/2013 - Leomania Likes this wine: 91 pointsOpened at my birthday dinner. Spent 30 minutes in the decanter before the natives attacked. Very classy, red and black fruit, enjoyed with some smoked tri-tip. Unfortunately not able to do justice to proper notes for this wine as it was one of many opened on my birthday and we didn't pause to do much more than say, "Boy, that's good! Or at least it was. What are you opening next?" |

5/21/2013 - Leomania Likes this wine: 90 pointsBought this at the winery today on closeout and opened with friends during a late afternoon picnic. Raspberry, cola, a bit of leather. Nice lift from the acidity, fine-grained tannins. Very nice. |

5/16/2013 - Leomania wrote: 87 pointsAmple red fruit but not much lift provided by the middling acidity. Not much in the way of tannins. As this is my first bottle consumed of this vintage I can't say whether it was better consumed earlier, but I suspect this to be the case. |

5/13/2013 - Leomania Likes this wine: 91 pointsPoured through Vinturi. First night there was something akin to a smoke taint that blew off with some air, and was completely gone on the second night. Dark cherry and pomegranate, oak, good acidity with fine tannins. Very good indeed, and holding up well. |

5/12/2013 - Leomania Likes this wine: 89 pointsSolid core of blueberry with some blackberry along for the ride. Noticeable oak treatment, medium acidity, soft tannins. Easy to guzzle but not one-dimensional by any means. Delicious. Ready to enjoy now. |

5/11/2013 - Leomania Likes this wine: 87 pointsLove this wine. Amazing for $10. Raspberry and rocks. This bottle has clearly softened somewhat compared to the last couple (in a good way) but I'd recommend finishing this up in the next few months as it will soon become less interesting. |

5/10/2013 - Leomania Likes this wine: 90 pointsTight upon opening. Poured through Vinturi, drank bottle over the course of two evenings. Blackberry and black currant, oak and vanilla, noticeable tannins. Softened nicely by the second night. Very good value. |

5/9/2013 - Leomania wrote: NRPoured through Vinturi. Drank this bottle over two evenings and it never quite opened up. The blue and red fruit was swamped by the acidity and drying tannins. Perhaps I would have enjoyed this more if I had paired it with he right food, but in the end I'm glad this was my last bottle. |

5/2/2013 - Leomania Likes this wine: 87 pointsA nice blend. Leans a bit sweet and could use just a smidge more acid to lift the mid palate, but I wouldn't ding it just because of that. It's a great value and was a good choice on a warm evening. |
