Not as A-typical / Super Tuscan like as my previous experiences: plum, black currant, graphite, fig, espresso, medium to full body. Wining @EdS with Derk

Chosen to pair with a one-year older 100% grenache from CdP and a roast chicken. Surprisingly youthful, required decanting to catch up with the other wine, which it never fully did. Huge fruit, firm tannins, red and black fruit, cassia bark, bay leaf, oak evident but notably not (showing as) American. If I had other bottles, would leave alone another three years and plan to drink over the next 7-10.
Having given several of these away, and having drunk another in more of a party setting, I hadn't really appreciated this wine until tonight (and until I am down to the last few btls). Inky ruby. Pretty nose of dark fruit and dried violets. In the mouth, this is quite polished and New World, but undeniably yummy. Dark cherry cough syrup, cassis, bark, and a hint of cocoa on the back end. What really comes out is the silkiness and the big fruit (ala California) but wood is well-matched and there is nothing at all to be faulted in this beauty.

Dark red. Spicy, dark fruit, some roasted meat. A little angular and the fruit is mature. A very good drink, but the pokey acid and the tannic finish tells us it's past its best drinking.

Drinking really well right now. Resolved tannins. Great example of Priorat. Dark fruit, minerals, earthiness, some floral notes. Really a lovely wine.
