2019 Kirkland Signature BaroloNebbiolo more |
4/26/2024 - Chill51 wrote: 88 pointsLovely garnet color out of the bottle. Floral nose with hints of leather and peppercorns. Very bright on the border of being acidic, but smoothed out as the meal progressed. Short and dry finished that had a tinge of cocoa and espresso. Not as good as the 2017 Kirkland Barolo, but a nice food wine for the casual meal. This may benefit from some aging. |

2018 Alberto Voerzio Barolo La SerraNebbiolo more |
4/26/2024 - shemmy wrote: NRAlberto Voerzio farms some of the greatest vineyards in the Barolo village of La Morra. His passion for the land and its wines was remarked on even when he was a child. He studied enology and then gathered experience in Burgundy and Bordeaux before returning to La Morra to work with his renowned cousin Roberto Voerzio until he was able to buy his own plots in 2006. Alberto farms biodynamically, ferments spontaneously in temperature controlled stainless steel, then racks to barriques of which a quarter are new oak. |

2019 Diego Morra Barolo San Lorenzo di VerdunoNebbiolo more |
3/20/2024 - oldwines Likes this wine: 91 pointsTasted at the Barolo and Barbaresco World Opening, NYC. This seems to be the first vintage of this cru on CT. May be the first vintage made of this cru by this producer. it was aged in 20% new botti, so again there seemed to be a bit more wood influence that expected from a more traditional producer under normal circumstances. All in all balanced and tasty and probably better with significant cellaring. |

3/20/2024 - oldwines Likes this wine: 92 pointsTasted at the Barolo and Barbaresco World Opening, NYC .his is a 10 vineyard blend, Classico bottling. aged 6 months in Tonneau (5HL) and 2 yeas in botti (30HL). Solid wine, more wood-influenced than the Monvigliero cru for sure but nicely done. |
