Aromatics popping out of the glass with bright and crunchy red fruit, fresh florals, a bit of sea spray and just a hint of baking spice in the background but for the most part, the nose was dominated by a mix of raspberry, cranberry and cherry aromas. Similar flavors on the palate with a touch of salty minerality to balance out the fruit. Medium+ acidity, medium- tannin and body. So fresh and delicate but still with concentrated flavors. Fantastic bottle of wine. |

The fruit was on the darker side of the spectrum, like blackberry or blueberry. It's starting to show its age with hints of soy sauce. |

I had one a while back and don't remember liking it, even though I love Cru Beaujolais with a fierce passion. That said, I figured I'd give it another go with this cuvee. Loved this - Like a cross between a fruit forward Crozes-Hermitage and a Julienas. Nose had a spicy yeast note with an undercurrent of black cherry and blackberries. Palate basically confirmed all of that. Light, spicy, and rounded out with nice dark fruits and no oak. Will rebuy for sure. |
