2/5/2021 - winelover1986 Likes this wine: NRVery, very tasty. Vinous, a little mineral and tight on the nose. Good fruit and earth and great acids. Tannin still brings some power on the back end. |

4/19/2024 - Lord of the Bottles Likes this wine: 93 pointsSmall glass at the end of many bottles so only brief notes. Beautiful nose of fig and fig compote. Dark chocolate and raisin, more fig on the long finish. What a treat. 93+ |

4/19/2024 - mwagner7700 wrote: NRPurchased for $50 and opened for #tawnytuesday. Burnt amber tawny in color with garnet hues. Lovely nose of toffee, vanilla stone fruit. On the palate, lots of the same with the stone fruit morphing into peach and nectarines. Almost hints of peach tea. I love the play between the vanilla and stone fruit. The mouthfeel is luxurious, almost like a cashmere sweater. So soft and elegant. Yet the acidity is still vibrant and lip-smacking. There's a sight bitter orange note on the medium length finish. It's not bad, it adds another dimension, but I don't like that it interrupts that vanilla and stone fruit duet. |

2/24/2024 - efeldhake@yahoo.com Likes this wine: 92 pointsDeep garnet in color. Nose of plums, dark cherries, chocolate, and a hint of menthol. Taste of dark chocolate, dark cherry, plum, and a hint of vanilla. Just starting to develop secondary flavors. Rich and lovely mouthfeel. Good supporting acidity. Drink now and over the next 3-5 years. |

2/21/2024 - jdporter3 Likes this wine: 95 pointsHard to add to Motz's notes below. Lovely deep red colour. This is a classic one and certainly can develop more. Shared with a small group, mostly not Port converts. They became so after this wine! Glad I laid down a few bottles. See you in ten years. |

2/13/2024 - talbot61 Likes this wine: NRAt Boston Wine & Poker, Needham, Mass.: This came at the end of a long lineup, and my tasting notes tend to become more cursory in these situations. So, this is very drinkable youngish port, with no alcoholic burn, but not yet the mellowness of age, and without the complexity that may emerge with more time in the bottle. |

12/25/2023 - CWRF Likes this wine: 93 pointsBottle in excellent condition. Decanted gently as great deal of sediment. Nose showed zero hints of the TCA described in older Cockburns. Great mature port with powerful nose of dark cherries, prune, fig, pepper, leather. Long intense finish. Had opened up further when finished the next day. Great port. (@Home) |

Aromas of Christmas spices and dried nuts create a sense of complexity, with intriguing hints of Tawny Port characteristics adding depth. The palate is rich and intense, featuring a delightful array of baking spices and notes of lemon peel. The sharp cinnamon undertones evoke a distinct Vintage Port profile. It has a nice, long finish. |

6/4/2016 - Mossrose wrote: 98 pointsSo black that you cannot see through a half inch pour. Captivating aromas of fig, dates, walnuts, pecans, molasses, and plum jam, with no whiff of alcoholic heat in the nose despite having a 20% alcohol level. Utterly caressing, mouth coating, and juicy. The swallow adds blackberry, creme de cassis, cocoa, vanilla, marshmallow, and an exotic and almost endless tickle in the mouth. Overall, a stunningly complex, complete, and delicious dessert by itself, and a piece of heaven on earth consumed with foie gras or oven roasted pecans. 16 years young and heading strong into the next decade. |
