I thought this was a very well-made cab, now that it has a little age on it the tannins appear to have mellowed out and I could see why this would not have been as attractive a few years back. But now it is smooth with nice fruit and a long finish. This was laid down in my cellar for a few years and there was noticeable sediment left in the bottle.

Better than most other 2011's. Classic modern cabernet. Fruit forward, lingering flavors 10 + seconds.

This is drinking really well right now and I can't imagine it getting any better. Good definition in its tannins with balance and depth. It went down way easy.

Cooked. Pizza. Cooked lunch. Cooked myself. But most disconcerting was the wine was cooked. Saving grace is I've created space in the cellar for something with more longevity.

Really nice vibrant/ fairly deep/ blue and black fruit, nice flavor profile, really smooth, and nice long finish. Slow ox for one hour, decanted for another three hours, and drank over another two. Improved quite a bit with time but very approachable now with a decent decant, however, obviously no rush to drink - I expect a couple points higher in a couple years as it continues to evolve. WA anticipated maturity 2014 to 2039.

This has terrific potential. Eric's note below is spot on. This has supporting structure and depth to continue to develop. 2 hour decant revealed more tannin that turned a bit to dry on the finish. The best glass was on day 3 as it was perfectly integrated. I'll hold 2+ years or pair with a ribeye. Very good with outstanding potential.

Blanco supplied for our Italian meal last nite. Deep ruby core. Fairly aromatic nose of sweet fruit & wood. Copious amounts of juicy black fruit on the palate. Quite tight and tannic, especially since we didn't decant--which I would recommend doing in any future tasting of this wine. Good complexity, bright future here, but I'd wait a few more years before revisiting

Very dark purple colour; dusty tannins and earth on the nose, somewhat muted although opens up with a solid decant with some woody notes coming through; full bodied on the palate, dark red and black fruits, stewed fruits, quite zingy; medium acid, pleasant mouthfeel with ripening tannins. Overall a very enjoyable Napa Cab Sauv. Seems to be coming into its prime but should go for another 5-10 years pretty easily.

Decanted for about two hours. Deep reds and black. Nice nose. Still with some heat that stands up to slightly spicy foods. Enjoyable complex fruit. 30 second finish. Very nice, probably can go a few more years. Don't think it would improve however.

Not as good as it was a year and half ago, the last time I had a bottle, but still very good, dark fruit on the nose, the palate was blueberry, red meat and cigar box, the finish was long but did not bring out any taste of menthol as in the past.

Another great showing for this wine. Deep fruit with good structure and lots of earthiness, tobacco and some pepper notes. Long finish. Had alongside a 2007 Igneous and both were amazing. I think the Igneous is more harmonious and "easy" to drink but the Aida is clearly more complex and thought provoking.

5/30/2015 - Torchy Does not like this wine: 75 points

The wine looks purple colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like black pepper, violet, coffee and scented rubbery. The palate is dominated with a feeling of soap. The body is medium. The wine has flabby texture. The wine finishes short. The wine has medium acidity.

The wine is in fact 87% cabernet sauvignon, the rest petit verdot, malbec, merlot and cabernet franc. It has excellent, bright crimson colour, its high quality evident from the first whiff of the bouquet, and built on by the palate; perfectly ripened blackcurrant fruit is the driver, with tannins and fully integrated, fine French oak bringing up the rear. So perfectly balanced, it will likely be drunk long before its natural best-by date.

Steady as she blows. Offers a solid hit of blackcurrant, bay leaf and cocoa-like flavour without ever striking out for more. Tannin is firm-ish and both length and balance are good. Should cellar well medium term but can be enjoyed now.
