Medium bright gold. Strong kerosene nose. Fresh citrus, and ripe fruits of green apple, pear, yellow plum and cantaloupe melon. The sugar is not prominent - just present to level out the acidity. So well balanced - just perfect to drink on its own. Improved and really great on day 7-10. Perhaps just lacking some breadth and complexity to be first rank. No rush. There is a marked sweetness at the beginning, which is then countered by an acidity that appears quite late but is nevertheless very lively. The wine has sufficient depth and substance and a lingering finish. A beautiful Spätlese that is now at the beginning of its drinking maturity, but could be a little more exciting. Bei einem Besuch vor Ort wurde uns erklärt, dass Fritz Haag die trockensten Weine der Gegend produziert- dieser hier hat definitiv trotzden einiges an Süsse- das macht ihn "trinkig", einfach lecker und Lust auf mehr- weitere Jahrgänge sind geordert.
