Delicious. As fresh as a daisy on opening. Held up well over three days and developed a spicy edge as time went on. Should have decanted, as a wee bit of sediment in the bottle

Wine kept in storage.

As others tasting notes had observed, this wine had a sweet edge to It on the fruit. Contrary to what others have found, we both found there were certainly tannins present here, and the wine - which was decanted for thirty minutes or so into a decanter, before back to the bottle - did not seem past it or faded. Drunk with a juicy thick steak, thinly sliced and drizzled with balsamic vinegar, rosemary oil and Parmesan - the wine paired well and they complimented one another very nicely.

Second day - my partner felt it displayed increased tannic presence. I found the sweetness gone on the second day.

A good wine, and contrary to what other tasters had noted, it has held up well and my concerns that this may not have lasted the journey were unfounded.

2007 Alois Lageder Pinot Noir Krafuss

Wine kept in storage.

On opening, nose quite muted in the bottle, that subtle earthy funk emerging in the glass.

On pouring, very light clear appearance in the glass.

On the palate - notes of cherry, strawberry, caramel. Drank with a Pasta Puttanesca, and went really well.

Second day - pretty much same as the first day. Drank with a tuna, cannelloni beans and rocket salad.

Thoroughly enjoyable, wish we had more than just this one bottle!

Kept in temperature controlled storage. Drank for special occasion. The bottle had a muted noise, pleasant enough to drink, but no incredible characteristics. Did I keep this too long?

Day 1: Unctuous, deep rich gold colour, very sweet. On the palate, a honeyed flavour and texture. Upfront flavours of blackcurrant, like Ribena. Aftertaste leads into lime.

Day 2 - enjoyed with melon. The melon was not too sweet. The wine contains some effervescence, with the cork coming out with a fair bit of gas following hot on its heels.

Day 3 - a glass enjoyed on its own. Faint petrol whiff detected, with (confected) banana and citrus notes on the nose also, maybe melon too. The wine appears to be drying out a tad, and losing some of the sweetness, the acidity in the wine showing itself a touch, giving a bit of zip on the palate, noticeable on the back undersides of the tongue.

2nd of these bottles - the first drank some years back, in 2012. I wonder whether this can age longer, seeing the sweetness dry out? A lovely drop right now though, and tremendous value at the £7.99 they cost.

Held in storage prior to consumption.

Upon opening, despite other tasting notes, I found quite an expressive nose - I took no notes on what exactly they were, but fruit was still certainly there. On the palate, tougher - definitely needs food alongside it.

Overall, a worthwhile punt on a wine this old bought for £6, and I enjoyed it. Five bottles left.

Enjoyed a small glass with salted popcorn, and they went well together. Noted the same tasting notes as others, with a sweetness certainly present, but with salty sherry flavours definitely present too. Having not enjoyed many Aussie tawnies, I can’t say whether this is a flavour commonly found in this wine type, but I found this dessert wine interesting and enjoyable.

I would concur with the previous notes. I'm no wine expert but I've tasted a few nice ones in the past year, and compared to those, this was basic, thin, insipid coloured grape water, that tasted slightly bitter and wholly uninspiring. Not unpleasant, but really not that far off it either. I've seen more legs on a snake.
