As others tasting notes had observed, this wine had a sweet edge to It on the fruit. Contrary to what others have found, we both found there were certainly tannins present here, and the wine - which was decanted for thirty minutes or so into a decanter, before back to the bottle - did not seem past it or faded. Drunk with a juicy thick steak, thinly sliced and drizzled with balsamic vinegar, rosemary oil and Parmesan - the wine paired well and they complimented one another very nicely.
Second day - my partner felt it displayed increased tannic presence. I found the sweetness gone on the second day.
A good wine, and contrary to what other tasters had noted, it has held up well and my concerns that this may not have lasted the journey were unfounded.

Nothing wrong with this although it is out of balance with the tannins and alcohol predominating. Nothing at all to tell me this is Italian unfortunately. I doubt this will improve but it's hard to be sure.

(Ca' Marcanda (Gaja) Promis Toscana IGT) Berry, black fruit, charcoal, tar nose; rich, berry, black fruit, charcoal, tar palate, best vintage I've had of this wine; medium finish 92+ pts.
(Gaja Ca'Marcanda Promis) #2; VaynerPAZZZ; COLOR-dark; NOSE-stinky; graphite; like a burnt tennis racket; herbal tea action; finally rounded out by raspberries; TASTE-I get a lot of heat; very boring; tastes like $15-$22 wine to me; this wine has some cream and some fruit, but this is VERY young and should get better with some age; WS-90; ID-87+; GV-87/88

On the nose: Soil, cherry, oak.
On the palate: Tar, wooden plank, cherry, blueberry. Some tannins and present acidity. Lacks harmony.
Medium + finish
Not as pleasant as the 2005. Uninteresting wine.
Edit**Day 3 more interesting than day 1 and 2.
