Fragrant nose of slightly underripe apricot, underripe mango, quince and wet limestone. So many aspects to this in the mouth: off-dry, fresh lime, chalk, hint of marmalade, lemon, peach. Despite the complexity and thickness it is incredibly easy to drink, laid back and understated. I think this will go for 20 years still. A stunning wine. |

Gorgeous palate that defies description with jammy fruits, black currant and the most overwhelming fruit forward intensity, sophistication and class. What most impresses is the smoothness of the mid palate which transitions to a dry tantalising finish that lingers for at least a minute. Tannins still present and I reckon this will age for at least another decade if not longer. |

Overall pretty good but not up there with the best I have had from this chateau. |

Powerful nose with cassis, cedar and dark cherries. Smoky, powerful, gravelly fruit combination on entry with wet mud and ash. Very refined tannins. Disappears a bit disappointingly in the mid-palate and then has a long sinewy licorice tail. Something reptilian about this but I'm off to buy more. |
